Yesterday at the Fashion Performance at STF Swiss Textile School @schweizer_textilfachschule I had been totally in love with the them ‚Urban Jungle‘ about up-cycling and recycling 💚♻️🌏 Think I fit perfect in this ambience wire my up-cycled denim shirt When I had begun some years ago with my up-cycling some years ago many people laughed about it as a greenie bod - and now it‘s more and more en Vogue! Once again the lovely lavender loftiness of the flowers of Ipomoea pes-caprae.The reader will bear with me for repeatedly placing new images of this inflorescence, but like a haunting melody, of say Shostakovitch’s Second Waltz, one cannot help but return to it!!.

There are however some new points that can be noted about this species. Note the diaphanous nature of the fine petal, translucent to light. Secondly, while the prone stems themselves are not phototropic, their terminal ends are, the stem smoothly arching upwards here, to ensure the vertical position of this lovely flower.

So fine of fabric indeed is the fused infundibular corolla, that like an umbrella - as can be seen in the last photo - the flowery fabric almost seems to be stretched across supporting organic “spokes” or “ribs” as it were, with spoke tips to boot!!

Divo means marvel. It is the story of the myth creation. Meeting something unknown, unfamiliar, something that does not fit into previous experience causes confusion & need for explanation. And trying to explain the unknown within the existing mythological background gives rise to a new myth. In the world of the Russian village the mythological worldview is still alive although the inhabitants of this world are disappearing. In their eyes all new and unusual turns into a marvel. And what is ordinary for them becomes a marvel for us. The video story about a marvel in the Russian village was created by Andrey Kovalev. We went deep into the Ryazan region, to the village of Izhevskoe - once the richest village of the Russian Empire. Over the twentieth century the population of Izhevskoe steadily declined. Now there are many abandoned and dilapidated houses in these places. The village disappears, but the myth remains.
