A: Most likely, yes. If not for her performances as a opera singer, or for her world record status; then they would definitely know her for her family name (aka) Nishimura.
Nishimura Tech has been a, long- a very long running company that focuses on technological advance items, automobiles, and VR. Your oc would 100% see their company brand name in any store that sells electronics or cars. If your oc pays attention to the news at all, they would know the company owner/CEO name; Takehiko Nishimura, who is Wakana’s father.
As for if they would know her for her mother? maybe.
Wakana’s mother is Ena Fukui; a singer who was beloved by most of japan during her prime. Most friends and family call her Ena Nishimura, since she was married to Takehiko. If your oc’s parent had a taste in music, then I think they would know who Ena was. Ena Fukui’s current status is deceased, she has been deceased for some years now.
