The Self as the Circle

In Hermetic thought, the Self is not just the personality we perform in daily life.

It is something deeper: the observing center, the inner witness, the part of us capable of knowing, transforming, and returning to itself.

The ouroboros — the serpent eating its own tail — is one of the most powerful symbols of this process. It represents cycles, renewal, death and rebirth, beginning and ending folded into one continuous motion.

Nothing is truly separate from the cycle.

The eye at the center suggests awareness. Not passive seeing, but conscious perception: the kind of inner sight that asks, Who am I beneath habit, fear, desire, and illusion?

The hand holding the serpent feels important too. It suggests that the Self is not merely trapped inside the cycle. Through knowledge, discipline, and awareness, we can participate in our own transformation.

This is very Hermetic at its core:

To know the cosmos, know the self. To transform the world, transform perception. To seek the divine, turn inward and observe what has always been watching.

The circle is not a prison.

It is a mirror.

🌹 Theistic Satanism — Part 2

A religion... without rules?

In this second post, I explore a key aspect of theistic Satanism: its complete freedom. No dogmas, no mandatory sacred texts, no master to follow.

It’s a personal, introspective path where each practitioner forges their own spirituality in direct connection with Satan. A journey of self-discovery, rooted in critical thinking, inner freedom, and the rejection of imposed frameworks.

🖤 On this path, certain values often emerge: respect for free will, acceptance of differences, self-knowledge... But nothing is imposed. Everyone walks their own road.

Hecate - Self-knowledge

Hekate is that placeless place where Self-realisation & magic is the same.

She stands & the pointless point of the crossroads. Where the 3 roads of waking, dream & sleep are one. Transcending the 3 roads of states of consciousness.

Every soul that comes into or leaves this world (of the 3 roads)— does so through the midnight gate of Hekate. Here the creation is transcended with the so-called 4th state or road, turiya (in Sanskrit).

In true MEDitation, there is the opportunity, to spontaneously slip through the pointless point, into the beyond, where not even mind can go. Where no language can reach.

It is most frightful to the mind to even consider its own finiteness at the gates of the infinite. But fear of midnight belongs to the mind; the you of the beyond, does not share the concerns of the mind.

Hekate dwells there where individual soul stands face to face with universal soul. Where Atman is Brahman. It is the Mystery, that will ever remain Mystery, because here, the mind, is not.

In the Greek Eleusinian Mystery Play of DeMETer/Persephone, Hekate, walks with Persephone, through the gates of ego-death & rebirth/return to the upperworld/waking state. Where individual soul, for an infinite pause, meets with universal Soul & recognises the Truth.

This is the MEDicine. To die to time & wake up to the eternal reality, the true reality that contains the states of consciousness or the roads of wake, dream & sleep.

This true reality is Now & Always. The creation is the states of consciousness & IS a great Mystery Play or Divine Leela. Experiencing the Mystery (through staged ritual & rite), can activate knowledge of the true & ever REAL reality.

Since time immemorial PLAY was ritual, mimicking the divine reality of the creation as the magical play of the divine creator. Self-knowledge is the cognising, that the you that you are in truth, is that divine creator.

Whatever situation we are in, we can know, is ordained by the world Soul, for our own good— that there is part of us that Sees a bigger picture & knows what we require to facilitate our journey.

Ultimately whatever happens, can be watched as an unfolding drama through which we remember.
