I don’t just love Burr because he was so relatably ridiculous. From Parton, here is one of my favourite glimpses into old Burr:
His friend said to him once, “I think you are not particular enough in your charities. The man to whom you have just given money, I am sure, is a drunkard.”
"He may be," said Burr, "but that has nothing to do with what I gave him. He asked it for God's sake, and for God's sake I gave it."
"O, colonel," said she, "you can't say no; can you?"
"Not when I have any thing to give," he replied. “I am, indeed, an exquisite fool, an inimitable fool."
I suppose it’s now clear that I’m posting snippets of each brother’s situation. Hehe
A lot of sudden snippets for a fic idea that is in the trenches pfft—one day I’ll get to actually working on this hehe

Raph stares at the young turtle with gray and black-speckled skin. She stares back between the bars of her enclosure, wide eyed and so full of trust and so full of… life.
Despite everything.
Raph can’t look at her. Not right now. Those eyes look too much like his brothers’ when they were younger.
He looks at his cuffed hands. He stares at the chains attached to the wall. And he follows those chains to the wall where he suspects the circuits to run through. He follows the wall, coursing the long, complicated circuitry that connects his chains to her cage.
He shouldn’t have looked. Now he’s looking at her again.
She cocks her head to the side.
“Are you okay, Raphie?” Leia’s sweet voice asks.
Raph’s eyes lock on the scars that mark her feet and hands with jagged lines that connect to her speckled dots. His beak wobbles weakly for her, unable to contain the swirling emotions within. He nods quickly, not trusting himself to speak without scaring her.
She stands on shaky knees and holds onto the bars, “Don’t worry, Raph. Big Mama promised to let me out when they become champions. Rin said she was close, so it should be any day now. We just need to wait. And when I get out, I’ll help you find everyone. Trust me.”
Raph wasn’t to tell her the truth. He wants to tell her that Big Mama doesn’t hold promises. That Big Mama is cruel and only looks out for her arena’s success. Big Mama does everything for the love of the game, so to speak. And she loves to win.
But Raph knows that Leia doesn't know the difference. She doesn’t care, either. She chooses to trust, for whatever reason. And she trusts that Raph won’t move, and in turn, endanger her. And she’s right. Raph can’t move knowing that every movement is a consequence she has to bear.
So Raph hangs his head and nods, “Raph’ll wait.”
“Any day now, Papa Raphie.”
Raph clenches his jaw tight. His eyes water and he sniffles. He nods again.
For too long, we’ve been told there’s only one way. Capitalism, they say, is the only path to prosperity. But what if there’s another way? A way that embraces everyone, not just the few. Socialism, redistribution of wealth, and other alternatives are not threats. They are opportunities.
Embracing Criticism
Critics say socialism is a failure. They point to past mistakes. But every system has its flaws. Capitalism has left many behind. Redistribution of wealth is not about taking from the rich. It’s about giving everyone a fair chance. It’s about balance.
Reframing the Narrative
Let’s change the story. Socialism is about community. It’s about caring for each other. Redistribution is about justice. It’s about ensuring no one is left in the shadows. These are not radical ideas. They are human ideas.
Responding to Critics
When faced with criticism, respond with facts. Point to countries where these ideas work. Show how they lead to happier, healthier societies. Remind them that change is hard, but necessary. We must evolve to survive.
Calls to Action
What can you do? Start small. Support policies that promote equality. Educate others about the benefits of alternative systems. Be the change you want to see. Together, we can build a better world.
Conclusion
The world is changing. We must change with it. Embrace new ideas. Challenge the status quo. The path is unseen, but it is there. Let’s walk it together.

Notes from submitters:
It's such a good fic! The whole series is absolutely amazing; the humour, the plot, the characterisation - I adore it.
This fic and the rest of the series have quickly become a comfort read for me. I circle back to it whenever I need a good laugh
