Troy was drunk - far drunker than he intended to be. His new found companion at the bar either didn’t seem to mind, was just as drunk as he was, or Troy was drunk enough that he wasn’t picking up on the signals - not that he meant any harm, he just had a more than bothersome day. 

Twirling his finger in the air, he ordered another round for the two of them and rested his elbow on the counter blinking with a look of hard contemplation.

“What if everything is just a coincidence? For instance,” he took a small sip of his newly made drink, “What if gravity doesn’t exist? Everything has just always coincidentally fallen to the ground.”

Large blue eyes swell with tears as the little girl wandered around the city alone. Her mother had recently passed away and there were no living relatives to stay with. Often the girl would sit along the steps of any available shop, sitting and wondering what would happen to her. She knew that she was different from everyone else around her. Inside lingered, an animal lay dormant within her stomach. 

It was just another lonely day as the girl walked down the busy streets, looking for some way to manage food. For a girl so young, she was great at either stealing what was necessary or bribing a passerby. It wasn’t hard, especially if you were a small child. Though, at times she had to be careful about talking to people, because you never know what could happen. 

Finding a place to sit along the edge of the street, tired from barely managing to steal some bread, the girl filled her hungry belly with delight. Though she would save some of it for later. It wasn’t long before a strange man walked up to her. Seemingly charming and friendly, the man knelt down in front of the little girl. Taking his hat off, he only told her that he knew of a place the little girl could go. A place where they helped children. But the way the man smiled gave the little girl an eerie feeling and her first instinct told her to run. 

Quickly standing up, the girl turned but right before the man grabbed a hold of her arm firmly. The girl desperately tried to free herself from his grasp, but there was no chance someone like her would be able to fight off a much stronger man. 

“St-stop it!! Let go of me!” The little girl cried out.
