Is professor Huyang based off of Olivander from Harry Potter? Like when he was talking about the light sabers it reminded me of Olivander talking about the wands, and even the set up of his work shop was like Olivander. Plus he kinda sounds like him too.
Dave Filoni never mentioned any direct inspiration of Olivander, but I also get some vibes of him when watching Huyang at work too! Especially in the scene with the cabinets and when he is talking about assembling the lightsabers.
When they talked about Huyang’s concept, it was proposed by Christian Taylor (one of the head writers) that they have a droid be the one who taught the jedi how to manufacture their lightsabers. He is supposed to be thousands of years old and had taught Yoda how to first make his lightsaber too!
David Tennant matched really well for his voice, I think, and I think it’s cool that Tennant is also a fan of Star Wars.
