At the BFI event for Doctor Who The Collection: Season 2, guest Peter Purves revealed what he would like for the future of his character if he were ever to appear on the series again. And it might surprise you to know that he would want Steven Taylor to return as a villain, pitting his wits against the Doctor.
He went on to explain how, when the Doctor left Steven behind to help bridge the gap…

Only episode 2 remains of this classic story, but I'm pretty sure its due for an animated version any time now.

March 11 - April 1, 1967: The Macra Terror

For many years, I just thought of this story as "The one with the giant crabs", but it really is one of the most inventive and unpredictable Classic DW tales, period. It all takes place in a "holiday camp" world that is being manipulated and undermined by a mysterious threat.
This 4-part story was completely lost from the BBC archives for many years, and the only way a fan could enjoy it was through telesnaps, soundtrack, and Target novelisation. Fortunately it was released in an animated version in 2019, and I consider it a must-see for anyone interested in the era.

Victoria Waterfield, whose father has been killed by the Daleks, joins The Doctor and Jamie in their travels.
Genuinely excited for this one to come out in animated form. It is one of the wildest Dalek stories ever. The Emperor Dalek makes his one and only Classic series appearance, straight out of the comics. These Victorian characters are straight-up doing analog time travel with mirrors and clocks. Daleks do weird experiments to make themselves more human, and therefore less predictable. No one writes Daleks like David Whitaker.
November 11 - December 16, 1967: The Ice Warriors

The Big Monster Era (BME) of Doctor Who swings into full force with the introduction of these awesome armored antagonists. Warriors! In the IIIIIce!
They're Martians, though. Proper ones. From Mars. And while they're pretty basic bad guys here, they just get more interesting and complicated every time they show up, and you sure can't say that about Daleks.
The production design in this episode is really swinging, too. Very, very sixties future on display. It's black and while, but you may end up seeing color anyway.
There are 2 missing episodes out of 6, but the animation works well to fill in the gap.
