A Psychopath's Children: A Hello Neighbor Fanfic
Summary: Aaron and Mya are the children of a psychopath, Theodore Peterson. They ran away after another one of his episodes, but what happens when they see him again years later?
(P.S., based off this idea I had yesterday.)

Remember the fics I did called "A Psychopath's Son"? Well I just had an idea where T
Aaron and Mya couldn't remember one happy moment of their lives. You wouldn't be able to either if your father was as insane as theirs.
Theodore Peterson was a man with a lot of mental problems, and every time Diane told him to get therapy, they would spin out into an argument, forcing the children to run to their rooms and be forced to listen to their parents argue.
"Ted, all I'm asking is that you get help! You're not well!"
"I know what I am, Diane!"
"Theodore, I swear to God, if you don't get therapy, I'm going to leave you."
"That makes you a damn liar, Diane. You said that before, and you're still here!"
"Well maybe I mean it this time you son of a bitch!"
That was another one of their arguments, and Aaron hugged his knees as he and Mya overheard everything.
Mya cried and held her doll close to her chest, but it didn't bring her comfort like it used to as a baby. Aaron pulled her close to him and held her in his arms as she cried.
The only person who made living with their father so worth it was Diane, their mother. After every fight, she would come upstairs and give Aaron and Mya a lot of hugs and kisses as she put them to sleep.
She was the light in their darkness.
But that light snuffed out.
After another one of their arguments, instead of going upstairs to comfort the children, Diane ran outside to the car and drove away. Aaron and Mya were sad to see their mother leave them with their father, and they immediately ran out of their room and tried to catch up to the car.
But the car was too far away now, and Aaron and Mya just went back to their room and hid from their father.
That was the last they've ever seen of their mother.
She didn't come back for days, and when Aaron and Mya finally saw her again, it was on the news, and she was found dead on the side of the road, car crashed into a tree.
Nothing was the same after that day. No one was there to comfort them when their father had another episode, no one there to comfort them or hold them as they cried.
But the children weren't the only ones who suffered after Diane's death.
Ted had gotten worse. He was throwing things against the wall, hurting himself very hard, and screaming so loud, it could wake up the dead.
Aaron and Mya couldn't take anymore of their father's mental problems, he was unfit to take care of them. But they were scared to run away, because he was so much bigger and stronger than them, and he could easily drag them back and hurt them horribly if they misbehaved.
That's what he called it when they tried to make him see sense or calm down.
Ted wouldn't hurt the kids, unless they misbehaved or tried to leave him. So to avoid being punished again, Aaron and Mya just endured their father's evilness.
But Aaron and Mya finally left one night, with the help of a rush of adrenaline.
When Ted broke out into another mental episode once again at dinner, he threw a plate against the wall and cut himself with the glass, and that's when Aaron grabbed Mya's arm and pulled her as he ran out of the house.
Mya dropped her doll on the way out, but she couldn't care less about that right now. What she did care about was her brother running out of the house with his hand gripping her wrist.
"Aaron, where are we going?"
"No he won't. I'm sure of it."
After that day, Aaron and Mya stayed at a foster home where the parents weren't insane, and what was even better was that they had a child of their own.
His name was Nicky, and he was very friendly with Aaron and Mya.
After some time, they warmed up to their new environment and became fast friends with Nicky, and their foster parents have actually decided to adopt them, which made all the kids super happy.
Aaron and Mya grew up to be psychiatrists. Despite their shared trauma of living with a psychopath, they wanted to help other patients get better, because they knew that they probably had families who wanted nothing more than for them to get better.
Nicky was the technician for the mental health hospital they worked at, and that made them even happier, because they were all together.
Until Aaron was assigned a new patient...
"Already?", he asked one of the doctors he worked for. "Damn, not even a week after my last patient got to go home and I got assigned a new patient. Cool."
"Yeah, this guy's been here a while. Since you and your sister are the best here, I figured you'd be able to handle him."
He was taken to the patient's holding cell, and when Aaron saw the patient, he could've sworn that his heart stopped for a moment.
"Hey, Aaron. You good? Do you know this guy or something?"
"...Something like that."
"I wish you luck, but I have to warn you that this guy has actually made a couple of the doctors here go insane themselves."
"Thanks for the heads up."
Aaron was left alone with the patient, and when Ted saw Aaron, he practically threw himself against the glass separating them.
"Aaron!", he yelled. "I missed you so much!"
"Dad, what...why are you here?"
"They brought me in here after I accidentally killed someone.", said Ted. "I didn't mean to do it, I swear!"
Yeah, Aaron had a very hard time believing that.
"You're here, you missed me, didn't you?"
When he said that, Ted's fists clenched against the glass. "What do you mean? Aaron, I've missed you and your sister so much. Can't you say the same for me?"
"After all the hell you put me, Mya and Mom through? Hell no! It's your fault she left us back when we were kids!"
Ted's fists banged against the glass. "How fucking dare you! I didn't cause her to leave, she left me, because she was selfish!"
"Shut up, that's not true!"
"If it wasn't, do you think she would've left you and your sister behind?"
Aaron couldn't speak to this psychopath anymore. He pressed a button next to the cell door, and the room suddenly filled with white smoke. Ted fell to the floor, he was unconscious now.
At lunch, he vented what happened to Mya and Nicky.
"Oh my God...", Mya breathed out. She couldn't believe they were meeting their father after all these years.
"Are you guys talking about the patient in room 502?", asked Nicky. "Yeah, I heard that guy's a real psycho. No offense."
"Listen, Nicky. That guy is our father, and all our lives, he's been a total psycho.", said Mya. "So for the sake of your safety and ours, please don't interact with him at all. Don't even make eye contact with him. Okay?"
Even though Mya was still afraid of her father, she still wanted to help him. Maybe if she helped him enough, then Ted would be sane and realize the hell he's put his children to.
It took a lot of convincing, but after that, Aaron finally relented and went along with Mya's plan to help their father.
That plan backfired on the first day. When Aaron and Mya went to check on Ted, they found him in the corner of his room, curled up and humming to himself.
When Ted heard Mya's voice, he got up and hugged her tightly. Aaron got in between them and separated them.
"Don't touch her.", he growled at him. "Don't think that just because she wanted to help you means we're on good terms now. We're not the same scared little children you used to torment with your little episodes."
Ted nodded. "Of course.", he said.
Mya took her father by the arm and took out a little syringe from the inside of her coat. "Unfortunately, I'm required to do this so patients don't get fussy."
"Go ahead, dear.", said Ted.
Mya slowly pushed the syringe into Ted's neck, and she held him up as she and Aaron began to make their way to the therapy room.
Once they were there, Mya sat her father down and sat across from him.
"Okay, Dad. We're gonna start with some ink pictures.", she said.
As Mya showed her father some pictures of ink, she noticed that he was sneaking glances at her. His fatherly gaze made Mya soften a little bit.
"My children...", he mumbled.
"My dad.", said Mya. "Dad, I think we're doing very good here."
Aaron just watched from the side as Mya continued to talk with their father, but then he noticed that Ted's hands were clenching into fists.
"I see you, Dad. You can't fool me anymore."
"No, Mya. Don't you see it? He's planning something, I know it!"
Mya didn't say anything, she just looked at her brother with pleading eyes, and Aaron just sighed. "I'll just go since I'm obviously not any help here.", he said.
After that, Aaron decided to keep a very close eye on his father. He began to monitor the camera to his cell, and he found that Ted didn't really do much except sing nursery rhymes to himself and go to the corner.
"I know he's planning something.", he mumbled to himself.
"I don't know, I think he's just minding his own business.", said Nicky. "Don't you think you're acting a bit crazy here?"
"Nick, if I were acting crazy, then don't you think I'd be in one of these confinement chambers like him?"
"That's not what I'm saying, Aaron."
"Look, I just need to catch him in the act. He's still a psycho, I just know it."
"I just wish Mya did too."
Nicky was the only one who stood by Aaron while he did his investigation, and he drank coffee while he did so.
Sometimes, when Aaron was busy, he'd walk by cell 502 and go check on Ted for him. Anything for his friend.
One day, Nicky was just walking by cell 502, and he jumped when he realized that it was empty.
"What the hell?", he muttered.
He didn't want to think that Ted escaped. This whole building was covered head to toe in security, so it'd be impossible to escape from here.
"Yeah. C'mon, don't be ridiculous, Nicky.", he mumbled to himself. "There's no way he escaped. Cameras are everywhere and there's so much security, you don't even know where to start."
He jumped when he heard a scream come from down the hallway.
Nicky ran down to the end of the hall where the scream was coming from, and he almost screamed himself when he found one of the nurses laying on the floor, blood draining from her throat.
He put on his plastic gloves and took out the knife from her neck, ready to use it on whoever got out of their cell.
Nicky quickly turned around to see Ted standing right behind him, holding a butcher knife. He tried to stab Nicky with it, but Nicky kicked him in the stomach and Ted fell to the floor.
He jumped on him and tried to knock him out, but Ted seemed to be stronger than him, because he held his wrists tightly away from himself.
"Get off me you fucking psychopath!", Nicky yelled at Ted as he wrapped his arms around his neck. "Aaron was right, you're still a nutcase!"
Ted didn't say anything, he just kept a firm hold on Nicky as he struggled in his grip. After another minute of struggling, Nicky finally broke free from Ted's hold and got him back down on the floor. He held the knife to his neck...
But then he felt a sharp pain in his neck.
Slowly, Nicky started to lose consciousness. Black spots danced around his vision, his ears sounded like bees were buzzing right next to them, and his limbs started to grow heavy.
He fell down onto his stomach and his eyelids were closing.
Every nurse and doctor in the hospital was dead, and the patients were running amock in the building.
Aaron and Mya hid inside one of the cells, holding each other very close as tears began to fall from their eyes.
Ted was on the other side of the glass, holding Nicky by the collar of his shirt.
"Children...", he said in a deep voice. "Let me in."
"No!", Mya yelled. "Let go of Nicky! Don't hurt him!"
"I could never do that to your friend, my sweet mouse. He's just sleeping, he won't be waking up for a while.", said Ted. "I just want my children to come out. Father is here and he wants to catch up with his children."
"Go to hell!", Aaron yelled.
The smile on Ted's face fell, then it rose again, but not as wide as it was before.
He pressed the button next to the cell, and gas began to fill the room.
Aaron and Mya tried to stay down to the floor to avoid inhaling the gas, but it was no use. They both fell down to the floor and passed out.
"You 2 made a big mistake hiding in there.", Ted said as he watched his children sleep. "But Papa will take such good care of you from now on.
