What are your thoughts on Insanity Sans?

For anyone wanting to find information on this dude, here’s a Wikipedia and a video from his old creator.

1. Character and au need a name change. “Undertale: Insanity,” “Insanity Sans,” “Madness Sans.”

Unless the new creator is planning to completely rework him and his story from scratch, then a character being the victim of unethical experimentation that horribly effects and causes his mental health to deteriorate this badly—to “go insane” and literally have vital parts of his “brain” chemically removed like happiness, empathy, confusion, common sense—should be treated with more compassion and sympathy then just “op” and “evil insane murderer killing for fun.”

This guy could classify as clinically/legally insane, as in the man literally can’t control himself or his impulses, potentially struggles to understand fantasy from reality or the consequences of what he’s done, and may not even have the ability to recognize that what he’s doing is wrong at all.

He needs actual help, not just another form of depicting a traumatized severely mentally ill person as “evil” and “insane.” This man doesn’t even seem to be entirely in control of himself.

2. Diversity win! This murderer is apparently (or used to be) canonically AroAce and apparently uses he/they pronouns??

3. How is Papyrus not dead? Does he have DT as well, like Sans does? Poor guy.

4. Reminds me of the old fanon interpretation of Killer that he killed for fun. They surprisingly have the bare bones of their stories in common, outside of that incorrect interpretation of Killer’s character. Wonder if In would also hate Killer for working with the human, or perhaps he’s so far gone that—to him—Killer is the human.

The old video states something along the lines that In “will kill anyone he sees,” which reminds me of how a certain Stage is described. I wonder if perhaps Killer sees far too much of Stage 3 in “Insanity,” — even if Killer in Stage 1’s perception is distorted by his own self dehumanization and demonization, and fear of himself and losing control — and perhaps Killer in Stage 2 will respond by possibly doing (or wanting to do) two things.

1. Avoid him as much as possible. 2. Keep control over him, as much as possible. Try to understand him, as much as possible.
