We All Start as Posers

I showed up too clean shirt still smelling like the store trying to look like I didn’t try in a room where everyone was trying not to care

the walls sweated sound amps screamed like broken teeth and some kid with a safety pin smile was already bleeding like it meant something

I stood in the back at first arms crossed learning the language of nods and shoved shoulders pretending I understood

They could tell I was new I swear they always can the way I flinched when the pit opened up like a mouth with no rules

but something in it called me out not kindly, not softly just loud enough to drown out the part of me that wanted to stay small

so I stepped in

caught an elbow lost my footing laughed harder than it hurt for the first time in a while

and nobody stopped to ask if I belonged

because that was the point

we all start as posers trying on anger like a jacket we haven’t earned yet hoping it fits

but somewhere between the ringing ears and the bruised ribs I stopped pretending

and started shouting

not the words I didn’t know them yet

just the feeling

and when I stumbled out into the cold night air shirt torn, voice gone heart finally loud enough

I realized nobody there was faking it we were all just becoming something

together

One thing I love about the Buddy Daddies Experience: There’s no source material. No manga, no light novel. Nothing. It’s an original animation. As such, we’re all experiencing it for the first time together... which is super neat! Very cool! No spoilers! Only everyone being delighted by these idiots all at once on the weekly.

As someone who used to royally hate Ardyn...

...I can tell you that not going into Ardyn hell is impossible. No matter how hard you try to stay away, you will be dragged down into the deepest parts. That jerk can just be so damn smooth and seductive. Eventually, you will want to give him a hug. That hug will lead to more. Don't fight it, just accept it lol

Once you see his in-character gentle and loving side in Ardyn x Reader fanfics and drabbles, you won't want to leave Ardyn hell.

This is what I told a friend when she asked about Ardyn. Then, in the truck, our other friend asked who Ardyn was. My friend then responded, "I haven't played the game yet but apparently he is someone with a tragic past and he is a hateful jerk who just needs a hug."

Am I the only one who would expect him to smell like dragons blood incense and roses?
