I don't often post my opinions on controversial subjects, I have very little desire to stir the pot, ruffle feathers, or cause internet debates...but I really feel like I just need to put this one out there, so please bare with me. I am 100% against male genital mutilation (commonly known by the gentler term, circumcision). Why? Because there is NO medical reason to do so. Because there are 40,000 sensitive nerve endings in the foreskin(which means intact men feel more pleasure during intercourse). Because infants do not have the ability to express consent(so, yes, I am just as against piercing a baby's ears). Because our bodies are designed perfectly(in the image of God, if you will) and each part exists for a reason. Would you mutilate the genitals of a female infant? What makes that ANY LESS okay? The male foreskin is the equivalent of the female clitoris when it comes to sensitivity and pleasure sensations. Women who find a circumcised man more attractive are conditioned to do so, because that is what they know and what they are used to. It is not an acceptable excuse. Genital mutilation is legal child abuse. I cannot tell anyone what choices to make as a parent, nor will I try. I know that we all love our children with a deepness that words cannot express, and I know that we all do our best to do right by them. I know that parents who have chosen to circumcise do not do so with malicious intent. What I can do is implore you to do your research, and do it thoroughly, especially if you are a parent. Please, please, please. Protect and respect the bodies of our boys ♡
