you know what would be very sexy? Eggs that are actually multiple eggs per egg. Like a bot lays an “egg” inside another bot, semi-permeable membrane and all, but inside that are actual egg cells and a lot of them. quick and easy way to deliver many eggs at once. Bonus if the initial egg container is small on account of holding teeny tiny bits of information in a container that have yet to properly start developing, and eventually the container egg’s membrane dissolves and as they develop and grow that’s when you can tell that maybe there’s more than one egg.

though i suppose a sac could do the same job. I just like the visual of the egg more.

As an Irish person born and raised in the North (aka Northern Ireland for the brits and Brit sympathisers), I’m so glad people are talking about Ireland in Hetalia!! I have so many thoughts!!

Firstly, I feel so strongly that the NP for Ireland should be a woman. The goddess that represents the land is a woman, Eire is a feminine noun, the name Erin/Eireann is for girls etc. So when Ireland is depicted as a man in the sources I get so sad. They’re erasing a beautiful female NP :((

Secondly, I believe that Ireland would have been a very old NP (like older than Arthur) and she would’ve seethed under colonisation. NI/Ulster (bc most people here see them as the same thing and strongly identify British identity with being an ‘Ulster-man’) would be much younger.

The Ulster Plantation in the 1600s involved English/Scottish settlers coming over and stealing land from the native Irish to farm and colonise. They changed the culture, population, and religion in Ulster significantly. I think it would have been out of this development that the Ulster/NI NP was born. I HC him as a man, likely with a Protestant name like William. He would probably be a young teen in the present as NI has a very stagnant economy and was hit with lots of conflict in the Troubles (the Civil War for NI in the 1960-90s).

Sorry for the dump - Irish history and culture is such a special interest of mine and I daydream a lot about it in the hetalia context..

The Athletic's Annual Bengals Fans Survey Results

(not all of them because i didn't want to just take the whole article. but some of the more interesting results)

man. not great!!! we are not feeling good!!! 🙃🙃

it's so funny because when i joined the fandom in '22, it was arguably the year with the most positive fan experience (even more so than the super bowl year??) the survey results after that '22 season (aka the '23 results): highest percentage of fans feeling valued, highest confidence in the organization's direction, highest trust in ownership and duke and zac, and the offseason satisfaction was highest during the '22 survey meaning the offseason right before the '22 season started when we got players like BJ Hill, Alex Cappa, and Ted Karras, all of whom ended up being huge difference makers!

so like, i know i do tend generally be an optimistic fan. and i think it has to come from that. i joined when bengals feelings were sky high!! i started watching during that dolphins game, which i believe was the 4th game of the season. so i literally only experienced 2 losses live. we went on a 10 game win streak!! we beat the ravens and the bills in the playoffs (soundly!) we made it to the afc championship for the second year straight! i came into this fandom firmly believing that the bengals were almost always going to pull it off in the end!!

and uh. that is not the experience now!! and it's such a shame because it was so much FUN! but at the same time, the horror and misery of the last two seasons taught me that even when we're losing (and still. they were actually winning seasons!) there are still so many fun moments!! the highs are still high even when the lows are incredibly low!! and i guess i'm a true sports fan now, like, understanding that. and being invested despite it all. or because of it all??

anyway. football starts again NEXT WEEK (for sickos who are into training camps and pre-season games). and i am SO READY!!!
