I was going through the „list of stock characters”- as in, looking for character archetypes on Wikipedia and found this

I mean… I don’t think they are wrong but…. That was so unexpected????

Some other archetypes and their examples are

-redshirts- trekkies know where this came from

-silver fox/vixen- “older character, typically in their 50s, grayish hair (yadda yadda)- who is depicted as attractive, glamorous and charming”- example? RUPERT FREAKING GILES!!!!!! (Totally agree with that one)

-Hotshot- James T. Kirk

-homlesian detective- Thorndyke, Poirot, Columbo, Shinichi Kudo and Benoit Blanc

-Blind Warrior- Chirrut Imwe and Kanan Jarrus- I love both of those guys;

-Christ figure- Aslan, Gandalf, the Doctor, Spock

-Dandy- “a good looking, well-off, floppish young man more interested in leisure than bussiness and politics…”- Dorian Gray, and my Sir Percival Blakeney (I loved that one because I didn’t expect to see him)

I've said it before and I'll say it again- cancel culture prevents actual human growth. It's counter productive. I'm all for making people acknowledge their mistakes and face them- but that's useless if you don't let someone grow past it!!!!

Cancel culture prevents people from becoming better and less ignorant.
