"[Okay so, this varies depending on what region that you're in, but this is how it works in Kanto.]"

"[Number one- identify what your needs are, and how your pokemon help you get those needs met. For me, I need help navigating flashbacks and shutdowns, as well as crowd control and alerting to danger, since I discovered not knowing if something was safe or not was keeping me from living daily life. I also sometimes struggle with tasks that require dexterity in my hands- I had some issues with frostbite that left me down two fingers and with lesser mobility in the ones that are left. I also occasionally have seizures- it's pretty rare nowadays, but obviously I'd need help with dealing with that, especially if I'm out in the field. Find what tasks you need help with, and brainstorm how a pokemon could help with that.]"

- Can you introduce yourself?

I'm Wyatt Epping - Wybie for friends! I play bass in a rock band with my friends.

- What is your gender identity, orientation and relationship status?

I'm a guy, bi, and not... availa-bly. That was Awful, sorry about that. Not looking to be in a relationship right now, either, I have some healing to do before I'm ready to try again, found that out the hard way.

- Where and when were you born?

We - mom and me that is, assume in Lion's Arch because that's where she found me as a newborn cub some twenty years ago.

- What is your weapon of choice and fighting style?

I prefer to not fight, but when I have to, I prefer my staff or greatsword, and an axe for when things get close. My aunt calls me a powerhouse and I'm usually last still on my feet so I guess I'm good at dancing around the danger and hitting hard when I need to.

- Lastly, are you happy?

Yeah. Yeah. Getting there at least! I've gone through some shhhhoot that made me not happy for a long time, but I'm getting there again! Feels good.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS

- What’s your family like? What is your relationship with them?

(Wyatt laughs) I have a big and weird family by a lot of standards. I'm sure you're thinking that Epping doesn't sound like a charr name and you'd be right! I was raised by my mom, Norma, a human woman, in Lion's Arch so I definitely don't have like a charr upbringing, or a charr name even. I also have another mom who's a charr but not the one that birthed me, and a step-sister who's about the same age as me. Then there's my dads who aren't really my dads but kinda are -- it's a long story, but we're happy. Close! I love them very much and am definitely a momma's boy and a family boy.

-Have you ever ran away from home? 

No. Well yeah, when I was like four and mad about something and I got all the way to the other side of the street before running back to hug my mom and cry that I missed her.

-Would you consider marriage or having children? 

Marriage, definitely, with the right person, I -- think I want that, but it's also scary right now. Kids? No thanks. Thought I wanted some, but nah, turned out to be some misplaced emotional shenanigans. Kids are great, but not for me.

-Do you secretly hate one of your friends?

I wouldn't waste time being their friend if I did, I don't think. I can be a polite boy and act civil in any company, but I'm not gonna be friends with someone I don't like. What's the point?

-Which friend knows everything about you? 

Ordell, who is also in the band - he grew up with me and my sister and we were like an inseparable triple trouble trio, and he was kinda like our little brother but not really. Still is the same. He's the kind of friend I can talk about anything with, or just sit quietly, and it's just... comfortable. Cozy.

-Are you literate? Have you been to school?

Is this a joke about bassists being dumb? Yeah I'm literate, have been to school in Lion's Arch, and did real good there. I liked school and studying and would work on ballet flexibility while doing my homework; hobbies, no matter how serious, never were more important than learning.

-The eeriest prediction you made that later came true?

Hmmm. I don't know if anything like that's happened? My mom used to call me Stormlord because I used to predict thunderstorms and lightning strikes as a kid; does that count? She was amazed that I didn't become an elementalist.

-What is something you were embarrassingly late to realize?

You know what, PROBABLY a lot of things, but I can't think of an example.

- Do you have mental health or physical issues?

Both, haha... I have seasonal allergies, a permanently injured knee that ended my hopes of dancing professionally, depression that came with THAT, aaaand PTSD from a different kind of trauma. I'm healing, though!

- What is your current main goal?

Just... To have fun! And to get a griffon, that's what I'm working on right now. We'll see, a lot of animals don't like me, and I really don't know why. I think I'm cursed or something. Let me tell you, it's not fun out there when seemingly every animal ever seems to have a personal beef with you, specifically. And I'm not talking about wildlife, I'm talking about cows and chicken and like generally friendly things.

Food, unless my sister made it, in which case probably neither.

-Cats or dogs? 

Both! I grew up with both and currently have both - I have a cat called Silly - Cilantro, really - and a dog called Potato.

A little more of a night owl, I guess, though not really that either. I like sleeping.

-Optimist or pessimist? 

Optimist. Trying to be real hard at least! Mostly it's working!

-Sassy or sarcastic? 

Depends on the day and company I guess. Not a lot of either.

HAVE YOU EVER:

-Been caught sneaking out

No, but sneaking back in, yeah! (Laughs) I'd come home too late from parties or something drunk before I was supposed to be drinking and inevitably mom would catch me because I'd always get sick, or be way noisier than I thought, or, you know, both. I try to not drink enough to get that drunk anymore.

-Broken a bone

Kneecap, yeah, when I goofed my entire knee. Some toes, I think? Amazingly not anything bigger than that though.

-Received flowers

Yeah! From friends and family and dates, and fans too. I like flowers, am very allergic to some of their pollen though, haha!

Well, yeah. Sometimes deservedly, sometimes it's been me panicking and being shitty as a result-- aw rats, there goes a coin in the swear jar... But yeah, I have.

Introduction

Can you introduce yourself?

- Hi! I’m Fionnuala, Nuala to friends, family, and anyone who finds my name difficult to pronounce. I’m a member of the Crystal Bloom, one of Aurene’s Champions, former Slayer of the Order of Whispers, former Warden, and Maker of Friends! Nice to meet you all!

What is your Gender Identity, Orientation, and Relationship Status?

- Cisgender Female, Panromantic Demisexual, and Single. Turns out not a lot of people want to date someone who’s dragon-branded… which I can understand.

When and where were you born?

- I was born in the Grove about…. Five minutes after midnight… sometime in the Season of the Phoenix, in… 1310! Yeah, that’s about right. I can’t remember what day, but the day doesn’t really matter to Sylvari more than the time of day, so… I guess it makes sense. Does that answer your question well enough? Yes? Good! What’s next?

What is your weapon of choice and fighting style?

- I fight with two longswords - one in each hand - and though I’m heavily armored I can and prefer to jump in and out of the Dream like most Revenants do the Mists in order to get the drop on my foes. I do use hammers from time to time when I need to hit something far away that I can’t get to. Though, most of all, I like to use the magic of Aurene to lend support to my allies in battle - regeneration, strength, cunning… though I can’t do that too much or it wears me out. Still makes me happy knowing my allies may have survived because of these gifts.

Lastly, are you happy?

- Well, I’m as happy as my current life situation allows me to be. I know I could be happier, if I had different circumstances, but right now I feel like I’m… content at the very least - my brother is safe, my Mother is getting healthier by the day, and I’m always willing to answer Aurene’s call to service. I’m a bit lonely, in all honesty, when apart from my friends in Rurikton, but for now I’m okay with that - I figure when the right person for me comes along, I won’t be so lonely anymore.

Family and Friends

What’s your family like? What is your relationship with them?

- I have a pod-brother, Sitheach! He’s a wonderful person, and I love him dearly. We’re very close, and we write to one another all the time when he’s on missions for the Pale Reavers, just to keep each other posted on current situations. He’s been home for a bit now, which is a blessing. His boyfriend misses him terribly when he’s away so seeing them back together warms my sparkly little heart!

Have you ever run away from home?

- Nope! I’ve been called everywhere I’ve been, so technically I haven’t “run away” from anything.

Would you consider marriage or having children?

- Well, marriage is a foreign concept to Sylvari, as is childbirth, but I would absolutely love a partner, and would certainly adopt orphaned children of other races if my partner was also okay with raising them, as I highly doubt with my duties as a Champion of Aurene would allow me to effectively raise a child alone. I like to think I’d be a good mother, though.

Do you secretly hate one of your friends?

- Pfffft, what kind of a question is that!? Why on Tyria would you call someone a friend if you secretly hated them? How silly!

Which friend knows everything about you?

- The only people on Tyria that know all about me are my brother, and my best friend Elspeth. That being said, I’m rather open to questions so if you see me in public and want to know more about a specific sliver of my life, just ask! I’ll do my best to answer.

Are you literate? Have you been to school?

- I can definitely read and write, as most if not all Sylvari can do that from emergence, and… does the Dream count as schooling? I know learning from Mentors does, but I feel like I learned more from the Dream than I ever did from my mentor - sorry, Maeryn, but it’s true!

What’s the eeriest prediction you made that later came true?

- I don’t think I’ve made any predictions like that, it’d be handy if I could, though… I wish I could’ve predicted the attack on the Grove during the World Summit… if we were prepared… maybe, just maybe Mother wouldn’t have been so grievously injured…

What is something that you were embarrassingly late in realizing?

- I partially understood how the other races weren’t born from pods, but what I didn’t know was the process of mammalian conception and live birth, until a kind Asura explained it to me during a stay in Divinity’s Reach. Hi, Quizz! Hope you’re well!

Do you have mental health or physical issues?

- Hoo boy, where to start… Anxiety and a bit of depression, mostly. Not being on the scene in time to help defend mother during the Shadow of Mordremoth’s attack… it really hit my self-esteem, so now, whenever I’m too late to save an innocent life, it… it haunts me for days…

What is your current main goal?

- My current goal is to protect the people of Tyria and help them in whatever way I can. It may or may not be a compulsion that I get from being Branded, but I’d likely do that anyway without the compulsion, so it works out.

Choices

Drinks or food?

- Drinks! Nothing like a good glass of Nectar after a long day of doing good things!

Cats or dogs?

- Dogs. Sylvan hounds. Specifically the puppies... I need to visit Danador’s Kennel again!

- Definitely a Night Owl! Which makes sense because of my Cycle. I thrive in the Evenings!

Optimist or Pessimist?

- My friends have never known me to be anything but optimistic in all my endeavors, and I certainly don’t plan to stop now!

- Ooh, hard choice… they both have their merits… can I say “both”? Is that okay? I honestly can’t choose with this one!

Been caught sneaking out?

- Of a Nightmare Camp? Yes. On several occasions, actually. I got a lot better at not being caught after I joined the Order of Whispers. Mostly because I didn’t have Ellie to help distract my foes so I could make an escape, if I was caught. Which I wasn’t! Not after Whispers.

Broken a bone?

- Never! Not even during Dragonstorm! Rather lucky on that front, my Priory friend lost her whole arm! Hi, Vledda!

Received flowers?

- No. Grown several myself, though.

Ghosted someone?

- Like, turned them into a ghost? Probably several people.

Pretended to laugh at a joke you didn’t get?

- Oh, plenty, when I was a sapling. I understood humor more and more as I kept living.

Fandoms: Watching — Right now I’m actually only involved in The Magicians, though in the past I’ve been into Star Wars (god I’m looking forward to being able to like Star Wars again...), Game of Thrones (I’m not sure I’m ever getting my love of that one back...), and several anime/manga series including Fullmetal Alchemist, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, and My Hero Academia

Most Popular One-Shot: Hours to Midnight without a doubt. Who knew, you want people to read your fics, you just have to write smut lol

Most Popular Multichap: Well I only have one multi-chap, and that’s First. It’s got a few people who really like it, and I’m hoping to have the creative energy to take it off hiatus next year, but I definitely wouldn’t call it popular.

Favorite story you’ve written so far: Oooh, that’s a hard one! It’s a bit of a toss up between Jennifer’s Body and Arms Wide Open for me. Jennifer’s Body was really different from anything I’d tackled before, as a non-linear narrative presented from a the POV of a character with an entirely unique framework for viewing the world, that was nice. And Arms Wide Open was written in a hurried fever dream state in less than two days as a gift to a friend, so it’s always going to hold a special place in my heart <3

Fic you were nervous to post: That’s going to be First again ^^’. To start with, it’s long and really plotty, and I’d never written anything that plotty before, so I didn’t know if I could satisfyingly tie everything together. I’m still not sure. And also, it’s a timeline one fic, so I still keep going back and forth on whether or not it’s something this fandom even needs. Regardless, I was nervous to post it, and I’m still nervous about it.

How do you choose your titles: It varies! I usually don’t have a title I’m happy with until I’m at least halfway through the fic, though sometimes the titles come easier. First went through three or four titles while I was outlining it, and The Appearance of Stability got it’s title after it was done and I realized that the passage with that phrase in it best summarized the themes of the story. But alternatively, Jennifer’s Body was only ever written because I had that title idea and it was a joke I couldn’t pass up. So, it’s really a crap shoot lol.

Do you outline: I do! My outlines tend to be rough, just a rundown of what I want to happen in what order, with sporadic bits of dialogue thrown in that summarize the point of the scene. Sometimes I stick to the outline pretty closely, and sometimes it goes through massive changes. Hours to Midnight was actually a lot fluffier in it’s outline phase, but Q’s brooding got away from me!

“Never really thought about it, to be honest. There are pros and cons to both.” *shrugs and then suddenly stops and laughs* “I’m awful at this ain’t I? If I have to choose then maybe taller? But then I really love holding people that are small... no I can’t choose, I just can’t!”

Intelligence or Attraction?

"Hmmm, well I don’t know about you but I find intelligence very attractive,” *smiles a bit coyly* “I’m not that smart myself, as my ma says, so I’m easily impressed!”

Hookup or Relationship?

“I guess for my own peace of mind I should just stay with random hookups but...” *heaves another sigh* “I guess I am just a fool in love most of the time, so I’d say relationships.”

"Yeah now we do, for sure. I love my ma and da, and even my three brothers, even if they’re a pain in the ass most of the time.”

“Eh, maybe? Compared to what and who though? Y’know... Sure I’ve been through some shit, but so have most people.” 

Have you ever ran away from home or gotten kicked out?

“Oooof, yeah that,” *draws in a long breath and lets it out in a bark of laughter* “Sorta both? I got in some real deep shit when I was a teen, so we all agreed I should leave Limsa for a while and stay with my da’s tribe.”

“Hate? I don’t hate anybody. Takes too much energy.” 

Do you consider all your friends good friends?”

"Hm, no...” *frowns and begins tapping a beat on his thigh as he weighs his answer* “I’ve had a lot of shitty friends, and I guess I should hate them and shit but... I haven’t always been a good friend, either. Ya know?”

Who is your best friend?

“You won’t fuckin’ believe it but,” *stops himself and holds a hand in front of his mouth as he chuckles* “when I was a teen I got in a lot of trouble, as I told ya, and it would have gotten really fucken’ bad too, ‘cept this yellowjacket, a real beast, she beat the ever living stuffing out of me. Got me to think straighter, realise where I was heading- and believe it or not but we’re really tight now. So that’s a good story to put in your book.” 

Who knows everything about you?

"Probably ma, she tells me stuff about me before even I know about them.” *grins and ducks his head with a slight blush on his face*
