For a long time, my favorite season has been Autumn. But I wasn’t really sure why, except that perhaps it’s when the temperatures start dropping and I love the crisp air and fall colors.
However, as Spring approaches this year, I realized why, although I love that the earth is waking up again and the flowers start to bloom, it’s not my favorite. It’s noisy and it’s messy, as all new life is.
Then comes Summer, filled with sunshine, humidity, mosquitos, and road trips.
And finally, Autumn. Things start to quiet down. Everyone goes back home to settle in for the new school year and the colder weather. Back to the books, and the football, and the knitting.
So, basically, I love Autumn because there is more opportunity for peace and quiet, which is all I really want in the first place.
