I really never understood how so many people misunderstood Seo Yul so much. Everyone wanted him to be more lively like the other boys but he's fine just the way he is. He's an introverted "teacher's pet" type of person. They exist and no, they're not boring people. He's a stickler for the rules and doesn't like to share his burdens. It's the way he was raised so I never understood why people wanted to hate him for that. It's nice to see characters like that on screen because they resemble so many people in real life who are constantly told to speak more or break a few rules once in a while; constantly told that they're boring and one dimensional when they're not. A "fun" personality doesn't just have to be someone who's always chatty or laughing the loudest. Some people find fun in their own thoughts or surrounded by books and that's okay.

An old story idea I had that someone else might want

"what mortal summons me this day" demanded the figure in the dissipating smoke

" AHHHH" screamed the confused young man holding a spoon.

The scream confused the figure. It wasn't a cry of anger and violence or that of terror. It sounded like someone didn't know he was there. As the smoke cleared the figure saw a short boy holding a spoon and a cook book. Since the smoke was gone, the boy could see as well.

"Ahhh" the boy screamed with a new found fear. In front of him stood a tall person with shoulder length hair and clothes that were either very out dated or very stylish. All he could think to say is

" you're not chicken soup" before he passed out

Writing Introverted Characters

As a writer, it is likely that you are an introvert. However, introverted characters are sometimes written incorrectly and/or poorly.

1. Introvert ≠ Shy/Anti-Social

If a character is an introvert, it does not mean that they don’t like to socialize or are scared to talk in general

People that are introverts tend to be normally social in any setting. The word introvert has nothing to do with their social skills

These characters don’t automatically have a fear of public speaking or have little to no friends

2. Introverts Need Alone Time

The most major point is these characters are needing time to themselves. Being alone is something that basically recharges the battery of the person

Not only do they need the alone time, but they want it, they enjoy it much more than hanging out in a social setting

3. Social Events

With these characters attending anything majorly social it is very possible that after a while they will get tired, feel unmotivated and be more lazy with their actions. It feels just like doing an action over and over and getting tired of it. Socializing can be exhausting for these characters.
