I am in talks about getting part of my small intestine resected when I have my hysterectomy done because imaging showed enteritis and possible endometriosis (imaging limitations) in the same EXACT spot as my small bowel intussusception.
I have proof after 7 years since they started that my life threatening bowel obstructions are being caused by endometriosis. I have had so many doctors misdiagnose me.
No OB-GYN would touch my intestines. No GI surgeon would connect the two. Specialists have sent me spinning in circles for years over this.
CT scans would show the bowl obstruction, but tests could NEVER find the cause and it got labeled “idiopathic” because endometrial tissue doesn’t show up on imaging that well.
I felt truly lost on this for the longest time because all the literature I read on this was like “it’s very rare” or “it’s virtually unheard of with 3 cases in medical history” and “endometriosis CANT kill you” but yeah it 100% can they’ll just misdiagnose you the whole time and shrug.
I almost died and I finally understand how and why it happened.
