Itâs okay if the only thing you accomplished today was keeping yourself alive. Existing with a body that constantly malfunctions is exhausting. You donât need to âearnâ rest. You already deserve it.
- reminder to myself this upcoming week.
đ€đ»đ©·FLARE BEARSđ©·đ»đ€
summary: You are having a rough flare up day and your sweet loving boyfriend goes into full caregiver mode.
A/N: I was in an awful flare up and it inspired this
𧥠Katsuki Bakugo
* I could see Bakugo pretending heâs annoyed, until he realizes itâs a flare-up day? Then heâs locked in.
* He becomes hyper-aware to your condition and your needs.
* Snaps at anyone who expects you to just âpush through it.â
* âSheâs not lazy. Her bodyâs being a damn traitor today.â
* Brings you water, electrolytes, salt snacks because trust he memorized everything you need.
* If you feel dizzy standing, heâs already there, hand firm on your arm and on your back.
* âSit. Iâve got you.â
* Because itâs a flare up, he feels powerless against it.
* He hates feeling powerless, so he channels it into practical care
* Adjusts the room temperature gets you a heating pad (he tried to be your heating pad once and well thereâs a reason why you have an actual heating pad now)
* Make sure youâve got enough plenty of water and snacks.
* Gets up to grab whatever you need (complains the whole time)
* Quietly stays nearby, pretending heâs just chilling and itâs no big deal
* But really he just wants to be as close as he can be on days like this.
* He struggles to express concern gently
* but if you apologize for being sick? He gets angry.
* âDonât say that crap. You didnât choose this.â
* And the moment you start to wobble, heâs there.
* Catches you before you fully go down
* âHeyâwoah. Stay with me.â
* Gets you somewhere safe without hesitation, zero concern for whoâs watching (if itâs in public)
* Kneels in front of you once youâre conscious, fists clenched, jaw tight.
* Heâs furious at himself for not noticing sooner, even though itâs not his fault.
* Forces himself to breathe slower so youâll mirror him.
* Puts a cold cloth or ice pack to help cool you down. (I get hot when I faint I donât know about yall)
* If you apologize afterward? He snaps
* âStop. Donât. You scared me, idiotâdonât make it worse.â
* Sits behind you, your back to his chest and his arms wrapped around you.
* Quietly says âNext time you feel it coming⊠you tell me sooner. Iâve got you.â and kisses the top of your head while he holds your hand.
* If you snap, cry, or yell about how unfair it is, he doesnât shut you down.
* BUT if you call your body âuselessâ?
* Glaring at you like you just said All Might is trash.
* âDonât talk about yourself like that.â
* Pulls you into a tight hug, forehead pressed to yours.
* âYour bodyâs fighting every damn day. Thatâs not weak.â
* He doesnât try to fix your emotions or tell you how to feel.
* He just defends you from yourself criticize.
Youâre curled up on the couch, knees tucked in, heart still fluttery from earlier. Bakugo doesnât ask if you want a hug he just sits down and opens his arm. If you hesitate, he rolls his eyes saying, âCâmere.â
While he pulls you in to him so he can hold you. Which is all he ever wants to do after you faint because he gets scared.
You settle against his chest and throw your legs over his. He has one arm wrapped tight around your shoulders, the other resting over your legs like heâs anchoring you to the couch. His thumb rubs slow steady circles into your arm, grounding you and him.
After a while, you mumbled that you hated days like this. He presses his forehead to your hair.
âYeah. Me too. But Iâll take every single one if it means youâre here.â
He stays like that for hours, not moving, not talking just holding you together until you fall asleep.
đ Izuku Midoriya
* Midoriya is already worried the moment you say, âI donât feel great today.â
* Immediately asks symptom-specific questions
* âIs your heart racing?â
* âHow dizzy are youâlike a 4 or a 7?â
* âWhat about joint pain?â
* Has done extensive research on your chronic illness.Knows triggers, warning signs, and what not to do.
* Constantly checking
* âDo you need water?â
* âSalt?â
* âShould I grab your meds? Actually Iâm just gonna grab themâ
* If you have brain fog, he talks slower, simpler, softer.
* Will happily cancel everything to stay with you, no resentment (izuku is a lowkey homebody)
* Takes notes afterward to better support you next time.
* He gets a little teary seeing you struggle, but tries not to show it.
* âYouâre really strong⊠even when you donât feel like it.â
* If you feel guilty for âruining plans,â he gently shuts that down.
* âWe can just have a relaxing day at home. Theres at least 3 different hero documentaries we can watchâ
* Midoriya panics for sure but like functionally panics
* Notices the warning signs immediately
* âYouâre paleâwait, sit downââ
* Helps you to the floor safely, talking the entire time so you donât feel alone.
* If you lose consciousness, heâs checking vitals like heâs been training for this moment his whole life.
* Heâs surprisingly calm even though heâs worried.
* His first priority is you and your safety
* When you wake up, he definitely has tears in his eyes
* Was holding it back till you woke up.
* âYou fainted⊠but youâre okay, youâre okay.â
* Apologizes to you for not noticing sooner (even if he did).
* Writes down what happened so he can help prevent it next time.
* Very gentle praise and support âšâYou handled that really well. Iâm proud of you.â
* If you get frustrated with your chronic illness. He listens intently
* Validates you.
* âThat makes sense.â
* âYouâre allowed to be upset.â
* If you cry, he of course cries too. Gently reframes it
* âYour body isnât failing you⊠itâs just working differently.â
* He reminds you of what you can do, but never in a toxic-positivity way.
Midoriya guides you gently to the bed, helping you lie on your side. He slips in behind you, careful not to crowd, one arm around your waist, the other holding your hand against your chest. His breathing is slow on purpose, meant for you to follow.
âYouâre safe. Iâve got you.â
When your thoughts start spiraling âwhat if it gets worse?â âwhat if I pass out again and he decides to leave me?â He gives soft reassurances between soft kisses to your temple.
âIâm right here and Iâm not going to leave you. I promise Iâll notice if anything changes.â
His thumb traces comforting lines over your knuckles. If you twitch or flinch in your sleep, he immediately stills, whispering apologies even though heâs done nothing wrong.
Eventually, your body relaxes enough to melt fully into him. He smiles softly while he holds you tightly.
đ©” Shoto Todoroki
* Todoroki notices before you even say anything.
* Picks up on subtle signs
* You moving slower
* Less color in your face
* Slight tremors
* Doesnât overwhelm you with questions
* âIs today difficult?â
* Adjusts the environment to make sure youâre as comfortable as possible
* Cools or warms the room
* Helps you lie down
* Keeps things calm and quiet
* Uses his quirk to help you when you have hot flashes or get too cold
* Sits with you in silence if thatâs what you need.
* If you feel faint, heâs incredibly gentle with steady support.
* He doesnât pity you or try to âfixâ it. He just accepts it as part of loving you.
* âYou donât need to be anything today. Rest.â
* When youâre frustrated or sad about your body, he listens without interrupting.
* Catches you when you do faint lowering you down like heâs done this a thousand times.

* Places your hand over your heart or wrist, grounding you.âšâIâm just asking you to give yourself for patience.â
* He hold your hand interlocking your fingers brushing his thumb over your knuckles as you lay your head on his shoulder.
Todoroki sits against the headboard, legs stretched out, and gently pulls you into his lap. You rest against his chest, ear over his heartbeat as way to help relax you. He brings a hand to the back of your head. The other arm wraps around your waist, with his hand coming to your lower back he warms its up just enough to help with the pain. He doesnât talk and you donât talk. You just sit there together existing. When you sigh shakily, frustrated and tired, he presses a soft kiss to your hair.
âYou can let go.â
You shuffle off his lap and onto the side of him, for warmth. He adjusts the blanket around you,âIâm here as long as you need.â
You canât help be smile just a bit and how loved you are by him.
