I have a brilliant idea and knowing my luck, it probably already exists, so if anyone knows where to get these PLEASE let me know. Y’know these fashion plates?
[this was the exact set I had growing up actually, idk if anyone else used them because on google they’re called “vintage” and I’m preeetty sure I was using my mom’s/grandma’s toys I’d gotten as handmedowns but I had a blast with these as a kid]
and how they had these little patterns on the back of each plate, so that once you got your outfit designed you could easily make a rubbing so it would look like the fabric had the pattern on it without having to hand draw it? And you could color it any way you wanted?
It was like digital brush cheats for tradiitonal art and it was great.
I would pay good money if somone made rubbing plates like this with designs on them for maps. Mountains, ocean wave textures, grasslands/plains, wiggly lines for beaches/shorelines, TREES, all the different symbols you use to designate geography - just rub/trace them onto the paper where you need them and it makes map making about a bajillion times easier for those of us who can only do traditional art.
