Wonder Woman's plane is one of the more fuckable vehicles in the verse imo. Gorgeous curves on it, and I'm a huge fan of the giant smooth panels on the stabilizers. I love it, but even if you don't, it's invisible so it's not like you're going to see anything that turns you off

Trump Weird News - "Unseeable" Wonder Stealth Fighter

But part of his unscripted remarks touched on a subject Trump seemed to find fascinating. "With the Air Force, we're ordering a lot of planes, in particular the F-35 fighter jet, which is, you know, almost like an invisible fighter, ... I was asking the Air Force guys, I said, 'How good is this plane?' They said, 'Well, sir, you can't see it.' I said, yeah, but in a fight -- you know, a fight, like I watch in the movies -- they fight, they're fighting. How good is this? They say, 'Well, it wins every time because the enemy cannot see it. Even if it's right next to it, it can't see it. ...That's a good thing," Trump said.

Trump had previously explained that the F-35 is undetectable by radar, but this appeared to be the first time the president had publicly made the case that an enemy couldn't see the fighter jet, even if they were "right next to it."

The Invisible Plane

Comic book characters with history stretching back decades tend to acquire all sorts of odd paraphernalia. Often these appliances were useful at the time they debuted, but the character's evolution since frequently leaves these items little purpose beyond either indulgent nostalgia or a way to poke fun at the past. Wonder Woman's Invisible Plane is one such paraphernalia.

Once Wonder Woman gained the power of flight, and had her power levels rise to their modern day levels, the Invisible Plane's reason for sticking around was unclear. She didn't need it to get from place to place anymore, what can it be used for then? Transporting people more comfortably than carrying them has merit but it's not exactly the most glamorous of functions. If the Invisible Plane is going to stick around as something other than a gag, then I think there's a better purpose for it, one that also gives Wonder Woman a feature that her male Trinity counterparts have but she has lacked: a home base. Make the Invisible Plane her equivalent to the Batcave or the Fortress of Solitude. There have been attempts to give her one of these, such as the "Wonder Dome", but they haven't stuck around like the Invisible Plane has. Therefore I think the Plane is the best option for her home base.

It's not like I'm the first one to the think of this:

An ambassador like Diana having a mobile base makes sense. Especially in takes where she can't return to Themyscira, the Plane acts as a Themyscira embassy that moves. Diana bringing a piece of Themyscira along with her wherever she goes is thematically fitting her mission to champion Themysciran values. In the past the Amazons were shown to have advanced technology such as the Purple Ray, I'd like the Invisible Plane to become another example of this technological advancement. Make it a tesseract where the interior is larger than the exterior, a wonderful example of the Amazons' ability to bend space to suit their needs.

Turning the Plane into a home base serves other purposes as well. For one it lets you provide insights into Diana's character. What kind of items does she value enough to display in her home? Artifacts from Themyscira? Battle trophies? Awards and accolades given to her across her heroic career? Batman and Superman keep all kinds of memorabilia in their bases which often serve to reference their long publication histories. Wonder Woman should have a base that provides that to her as well.

Another big benefit is that you get a place where the entire Wonder Family can gather and interact.

Superhero bases are cool and seeing an entire "family" gathering together in them to study or plan or train makes them even cooler. People eat up seeing the Batfamily all together in the Batcave, or the GLs gathered together on Oa, why can't we get an equivalent location for the Wonder Family? furthermore any time one of the Family members falls off for a while you can always just put them on caretaker duty for the Plane until someone is able to find a spot for them somewhere else.

The Plane should take some inspiration from the Dome in terms of design and what functions it offers. I liked the aesthetic of the Dome and I loved that it could serve as an armory, chapel, and museum in one. Phil Jimenez clearly put thought into designing a base for Wonder Woman, and future writers/artists should take note of what he did because it's great. Diana is a warrior, a diplomat, an artist, a scholar, and a devout woman of faith. Her home needs to reflect these attributes and provide rooms where she can showcase these parts of her character.

Sometimes long running franchises such as Wonder Woman require revamping in certain areas to revitalize parts that have become obsolete. Keeping the Plane useful isn't an insurmountable task, it just requires someone with the passion for it.
