“What are you doing there?” Irileth asked, words more breathed than spoken. Nevri’s fingertip, now coated in her dampness circled her clit slowly. “Oh, you know what I am doing,” she answered, a fierce look in her eyes. A groan, more lustful than annoyed came from her and she widened the stance of her knees, sitting down on Nevri’s hand. Gently, she pulled it out and set it on her chest, the wet finger onto her nipple. “If we’re doing this, we’re doing it right,” she, now a wicked gleam in her eyes. A first, slow grind of her hips let her clit run along Nevri’s. She made a suffocating sound in response, bucked her hips against her. Then, she rose again, took a little distance and settled between Nevri’s thighs. “Lift your legs, sweetheart.”

She did not swear fealty to a throne. She swore it to a man—and never broke that oath.

Irileth was not born in Skyrim. A Dunmer nightblade, trained in the shadows of Morrowind—perhaps even by the Morag Tong—she came north not as a refugee, but as a warrior. There, in the chaos of the Fourth Era, she found a kindred soul in Balgruuf the Greater. They fought together in their youth, blade to blade, back to back. And when Balgruuf became Jarl of Whiterun, Irileth made her demand: she would be his housecarl, or she would leave. He agreed. He never regretted it.

She was not like the others. She was his shadow in Dragonsreach, his blade in the dark, his voice when his own faltered. She trusted few, smiled less, and kept her hand near her sword even in council. When the Dragonborn arrived, she did not fawn. She questioned. She watched. And when the first dragon in an age rose over the Western Watchtower, it was Irileth who led the charge.

She rallied the guards with a voice like steel. She stood at the front when Mirmulnir descended in fire and fury. She fought with sword and spell—lightning crackling from her hands, steel flashing in the smoke. And when the beast fell, she did not celebrate. She simply nodded, and said she was glad the Dragonborn was on their side.

Irileth was not a hero of prophecy. She was not Dragonborn, not noble, not even Nord. But she was loyal. And in a land torn by civil war, where oaths were broken as easily as bread, that made her rare.

She remained by Balgruuf’s side through the war, through the siege, through the shifting tides of power. Whether Whiterun stood with the Empire or fell to the Stormcloaks, Irileth endured. She did not serve politics. She served him.

And in doing so, she became the spine of a city that might otherwise have broken.
