Ruby
When hanging out with NCT, Ru usually just hangs around Suyoung or she’ll chill with Kun and Sicheng and by proxy, Yuta. Kun and Ru get along really well since they’re both from China. They usually speak in Chinese to each other and confuse everyone around them. Sometimes she’ll chat with Johnny and Taeil about current events and such.
Ester
Suyoung likes hanging out with NCT mostly for Taeyong’s sake. She’ll help the poor boy help take care of all the younger boys. Leaders gotta stick together. She also has a good relationship with Jungwoo and Doyoung. Suyoung and Doyoung think Jungwoo is so precious and sweet so they like to talk about all the things he’s done that make him seem like such a sweetheart.
Jae
Jiae likes to not only hang out with the boys but also dance with them. Most of the time, she dances with Jisung and Ten sometimes Taeyong too. Ten likes to tease her about her not-so-secret crush on Eunhyuk while Jisung likes to do the same but in a lowkey manner by slipping him into the conversation and telling her all the things he’s been up to.
Mijin
Oooh Mijin and NCT. Mijin loooves to go over to the NCT dorms and play video games. Haechan and Yukhei always invite her over. Taeyong is just used to randomly seeing her appear at the dorms. Jaehyun also likes to hang out with her. He treats her like his little sister and protects her. Also, Mijin has a huge crush on Yukhei so she hangs all over him when he’s around.
Y/N
You like to hang out with NCT, mostly the English speaking crew. Johnny and Mark like to make jokes with you that the other members probably wouldn’t get. Taeyong likes to practice his English skills on you so he can make sure he’s pronouncing things correctly and using correct grammar.
Anon asked: Max, if you need ideas on what to write for Iris, write about one of the members being involved in an accident, or collapsing on stage due to fatigue (Their main-dancer, maybe?) It's what I do in my with my own group. Not going to lie, it's fun to give them like, good lives, but really shitty moments, too. Maybe, write about one of them, if they're Lesbian or Gay or Bisexual, being outed or something. And, also, can we read about your fake group?

a/n: First of all, thank you for all these ideas, I needed them. Second, you can read about Iris if you search the tag Iris on this blog but here’s the masterlist too! I’m going to keep this ask in the inbox so I can keep looking at this for reference because there are some other ideas in here that I wanna do ;)
“You don’t have to go out there if you really don’t feel well,” Suyoung worried.
“No, no. I need to go. I have a dance break in this song,” Jiae assured her.
Jiae stood up and walked to the other side of the green room where the bathroom was. She walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind her. It was quiet until the door closed.
“She really doesn’t look good,” you piped up, “She looks so pale.”
“And she’s really warm. I could feel the heat radiating off of her just by standing next to her,” Suyoung responded.
Suyoung let out a concerned sigh. One of the PD’s came in and gave you guys a 5-minute warning. Jiae walked out of the bathroom, not looking any better. She gave a small reassuring smile and a thumbs up before leaving the room. You all followed after her.

The performance was going well and you were just about done with your set. You were on the final song, a song with a big dance break where Jiae had a solo. You could tell everyone was a bit on edge since Jiae wasn’t feeling well. You started the final song and everything went fine for the most part. Jiae was a little sloppy in her footwork, which was weird for her. She was always clean and precise in her movement but you just assumed she was a bit sloppy since she was feeling ill.
You moved into your positions for the dance break but out of the corner of your eye, you noticed Jiae wobbling. Just as you looked over, she collapsed. You rushed over to her, the others following after seeing her unconscious body on the floor. You lightly shook her, trying to wake her up. Her eyes slowly opened. Medics that were on standby rushed over and began checking her over. They quickly rushed her off stage and back into your group’s greenroom. You all followed them.

Jiae was brought back to the green room but later brought to the nearby hospital for a full examination. You all waited at the hospital to hear how she was doing. Your manager informed you that she was doing fine, she just had a minor head injury besides the fact that she had a fever. They let you all go back and see her finally.
“Ya, Jiae!” Suyoung said as she entered the room Jiae was in, “I told you to sit out of the performance!”
“Aww don’t be too mean to her eonni,” Mijin pouted
“She is still trying to get better. Don’t beat her up too much,” Ru piped in
Suyoung sighed and sat down at the end of Jiae’s bed, resting her hand on Jiae’s leg.
“I knew I should have kept you from performing. You’re too sick and shouldn’t be on stage yet I let you go out there. You could have really hurt yourself.”
“No, don’t blame yourself,” Jiae spoke, “I was the one that went on stage even though I knew I shouldn’t have.”
Everyone was silent a moment, relishing in Suyoung and Jiae’s words.
“Ahh, I don’t like this silence~” Mijin overdramatically sighed while laying over Jiae’s lap
Jiae laughed and gently flicked Mijin’s forehead, making everyone laugh.
“Yeah, you can’t keep the silence either.”
“Alright, why don’t we let Jiae rest for a bit and regain her strength?” Ru proposed
“Yeah, let's do that. We’ll head back to the dorms and let you rest for a while until they let you come home,” Suyoung said
You all said your goodbyes to Jiae and watched as she settled down to rest as you closed the door to her hospital room.

Mijin bounced on the balls of her feet. She giggled to herself, looking at herself in the mirror. She turned around and skipped over to the couch where Jiae was sitting. She plopped down next to her, watching the rest of you finish up getting ready.
“I’m so excited,” Mijin squirmed happily, “I was hoping we would come on this show at some point.”
“I told you we would,” Suyoung chuckled
Mijin chatted happily with Jiae as you and Suyoung touched up your makeup. One of the PDs knocked on the green room door, informing you guys that there were 5 minutes until filming started. Mijin hummed happily to herself. Ru called for Suyoung.
“Yeah? What’s up, Ru?”
“I’m a little nervous,” she said shyly, “I’m not good on variety shows.”
“Aww, Ru~ You’ll do fine!” Suyoung wrapped her arms around Ru’s neck, giving her a hug.
The PD knocked on the door, asking you guys to come out. You filed out of the green room and followed the PD behind the set. You could hear the boys talking loudly from behind the set. Suyoung stood behind the door of the entrance. Mijin stood beside her, bouncing excitedly. Suyoung slid the door open and walked in.
“Oh, Iris!” Heechul exclaimed
You all lined up behind the podium.
“1, 2, 3,” Suyoung counted
“Staying in your eyes! Hello, we are Iris!” you all said in unison
You went down the line and introduced yourselves.
“Hello, I’m the leader, Ester!”
“Hello, I’m Ruby.”
“Hi! I’m Mijin!!”
“I’m Y/N!”
“Hello, I’m Jae.”
The men greeted you kindly. Heechul stood up and pointed at you.
“Ya! Y/N!” he exclaimed
“Heechul-ah!” you exclaimed back
“I told you I’d get you on this show!”
“Took you long enough!” you huffed, making the others laugh.
“Yah, Heechul. How are you friends with so many girls?” Hodong joked
Heechul only winked at Hodong. You and Mijin giggled while Suyoung stifled a laugh. After you finished with introductions, you all paired up with the members and sat down at the desks. You sat with Heechul, obviously. Suyoung sat with Kyunghoon, Jiae sat with Janghoon, Ru sat with Hodong, and Mijin sat with Sangmin. Jiae was the first up in the Guess About Me segment.
“What is my dream collaboration stage?”
All of the girls stifled a giggle, knowing exactly what the answer was. Jiae always talked about her dream stage. The men asked a few questions, trying to get a few more details. After a bit of talking, Heechul let out a loud laugh.
“You want to dance with Eunhyuk!”
Jiae’s face turned a bit pink. She said Heechul was right, making all the girls break out into giggles. Her crush on Eunhyuk was so obvious.
Everyone else got up and asked their questions then moved onto the next segment. Today it was boys against girls in a 2 part game. Mijin was so excited to play a game against the Knowing Brothers. The first game was a guess the song in one-second challenge. Heechul is known for being the best at this but you had a feeling that you could at least compete with him. You were all quiet as the first song played. A girl’s voice echoed around the room.
“Oh!” you exclaimed, “It’s ‘TT’ by Twice!”
You all looked at the judge. He gave you the thumbs up, signaling you were right. The game continued, finishing with a score of 3-5 in favor of the guys. The next game was a random dance challenge.
“If you guys win,” Hodong spoke up, “We’ll let you perform your new song ‘I Am Me’.”
“And what happens if you win?” Mijin questioned
“You post about us on your social media,” Heechul smirked
“Deal,” Mijin agreed
You were all quiet as you waited for the song to start playing. The first song that came on was Red Velvet’s ‘Ice Cream Cake’. Heechul was quick to start dancing but so was Mijin and Jiae. Dancing is when Jiae shined the brightest. She always looked so confident and happy while dancing. Mijin looked just as happy as Jiae did, just happy to be doing this. Suyoung watched the two of them like a proud mother. Ru was just happy to be here. You had begged Heechul to get Iris on Knowing Brothers because you knew how much fun it would be for everyone.
You were all out of breath, finally done with dancing. The PD tallied up the points and announced the winner.
“With a total of 10 points,” he said, “Iris wins.”
The five of you cheered, giving each other a group hug.
“Alright, as promised you can perform your new song for us,” Hodong announced
The five of you got into your places and waited for your new song to start, energized from the win.

a/n: yo I’m getting back to that writing grind slowly but surely. I’ll be posting some requests today too hopefully!!
“I’m jealous!” Mijin whined, “I wanna go see kids!!”
“Mijin, you are a kid. Who’s gonna trust you with kids?” you laughed.
Mijin flopped down on the couch in your dorm living room, grumbling to herself about how she was an adult too. Ru came over and patted her head.
“Next time you can come with us. But let us test this out first,” she reassured the upset Mijin.
Suyoung finally got out of the bathroom, Jiae rushing in just after she left. She looked over the living room setting her eyes on Ru.
“You ready to go? We’re going to be late,” Suyoung worried
“We’ll be fine, Su. We can go now though if you want,” Ru reassured her
“Yeah, let's go.”

“So you’ll be babysitting Soeul and Daeul today,” your group’s manager informed Suyoung and Ru.
“Awww~ Daeul looks just like Jongdae~” Suyoung gushed, “I just wanna give him a big hug!”
Ru and the manager just laughed to themselves. The manager continued briefing the girls until they arrived at Lee Beomsoo’s home.
“Hello! I’m Ester,”
“And I’m Ruby,”
“And we’re from Iris!” Suyoung introduced themselves to Daeul and Soeul.
Soeul shyly but excitedly greeted the two older girls. Daeul had to be persuaded into saying hello, intimidated by the two older girls. By this time, the children’s father, Lee Beomsoo, was gone leaving the kids with Suyoung and Ru. The older girls were sitting on the floor with the kids talking with them.
“Do you want lunch?” Suyoung asked
Both the children nodded. Before Suyoung could get up, Ru got up, saying she would cook and Suyoung could watch the kids. Suyoung thanked her before returning her attention to Soeul and Daeul.
A half hour later, Ru called everyone over to the table to eat. Suyoung helped Daeul and Soeul sit down while Ru served the food. Ru made a simple meal of bibimbap with a side of kimchi for the older girls.
Suyoung sat next to Daeul and helped feed him. Ru sat across from the three of them. They all enjoyed a nice lunch together, laughing and joking while eating.

“Thank you for having us in your home,” Suyoung thanked Beomsoo just as the girls were leaving.
“Thank you for coming and taking care of my children all day,” he chuckled
Suyoung and Ru bowed politely to the actor then walked over to the children. Suyoung knelt down to their height.
“Thank you for playing with us,” Soeul said sweetly, coming over to hug both girls, “Your food was very yummy, Eonni.”
Both of the girls’ hearts melted at the sweet gesture. Daeul shyly came over and hugged the girls too, giving a little peck on Suyoung’s cheek.
The girls said their final goodbyes, thanking Beomsoo for letting them into his home again, and left. Suyoung spent the rest of the day talking about how cute Soeul and Daeul were and the little kiss Daeul gave her.

“Ahh~ I’m so jealous!! I wanted to meet them!!” Mijin whined while watching the Return of Superman episode Suyoung and Ru were on.
“Next time,” Ru promised yet again
“You’re a child so you’ll get along with them very well,” you teased under your breath
Mijin threw a pillow at you, hitting you directly in the face.
Born in Hangzhou, China, Ru is the oldest in her family. She has one younger brother. She lives with her parents and grandparents in China. She auditioned for Starlight Entertainment in 2006 at the age of 16. She became a trainee and left her family in China. She became really close friends with other member Suyoung. They lived together during their training period. She met the other members of Iris later, once they started training at the company.
