It’s been a year since Summer passed away. I talk a lot about death, death acceptance, death positivity. Grief doesn’t obey any rules and everyone will experience it in a different way.

I miss Summer, terribly. I got the luxury of choice to say when she had almost had enough and to choose a time that meant she wasn’t in pain, and it wasn’t a ‘mercy dash’ for the vet to come to her. So many of us don’t get that.
