I was wondering if you've seen this already 😆 Been laughing at this new NECA figure of '87 Raph, because... well, I think the options are endless 🤭 He's even got the heart eyes~

But... this one promo photo troubles me..!! D:

Why... can't they tell the difference between Mona and Irma? You literally had one job, NECA.. 😢

I don’t know if you know this but the sailor outfit + the heart eyes + Irma for the NECA figure are in reference to the TMNT 1987 episode “Green With Jealousy” (S3 Ep21). Mona Lisa was introduced in S4, so Raph hasn’t met her yet.

In the episode, Shredder and Krang create a love potion and put it on the Turtles pizza. Their plan is to have them all fall in love with the first woman they see and they’ll be too distracted by said woman to interfere with Shredder and Krang’s evil plans. So Leo, Mikey and Raph all eat the love potion pizza (also they are all in sailor outfits because of reasons)

Donnie is the only one who doesn’t eat it, so when the Turtles stop by April’s place, Irma greets the boys and of course, the Turtles all fall in love with her from the effects of the love potion, hence the heart eyes.

The rest of the episode follows Donnie trying to find a cure while his brothers are all competing to win Irma’s heart, sending her secret admirer letters/gifts. Irma is unaware that the Turtles are courting her and instead thinks her secret admirer is one of the handsome sailors that she met in the beginning of the episode.

Side note there’s a funny moment in the episode when Splinter sees his sons acting weird and they have this conversation:

Splinter: What’s going on with them?

Donnie: They’re in love.

Splinter: That’s good! :D

Donnie: With the same woman.

Splinter: That’s bad! :(
