Anyway, based on that one episode in s2 where Karai tried to capture April for Shredder, and the turtles had to save her (also thats how they made up after the whole batdad situation). Obviously, she couldn't defeat them on her own, but I wish we could see April putting up a bit more of a fight.
We should talk more about how instinctively respectful and polite the two hotheaded brothers of the bunch are. I mean, c'mon.
Before one of their first-ever human interactions, when Raph finds out that Murakami is blind, and thinks Mikey may have been a tad insensitive, he shuts that down with no hesitation. Doesn't say a word, which on its own communicates that he feels Mikey should know better because it's common sense. He thinks that this man, who he's never met before, who he knows nothing about other than he's a chef and he is blind, deserves inherent respect from his brothers.
And for his part, after Donnie and the brothers save Murakami and he offers to make them food, Donnie- through no influence of others, since he is the first to use this title, and April previously called him "Mr. Murakami" when she was telling them about the shop owner- decides to apply an honorific title "-san" to Murakami's name.
"Murakami-san, that was awesome!"
If they used the title "-san" all the time, then I wouldn't think much about it, but they don't. This is one of the few occurrences that it's used, and it's from when they're straight out of the sewers.
I really think this is a fact that goes under a lot of people's noses when they write fanfictions or the tempermental brothers interacting with others in general. If they have reason to suspect that they shouldn't like you, then they can be crass, sarcastic, and dismissive. But if you're just an everyday person? Not a threat and not on their bad side?
You can tell Splinter raised them right because they can be some of the most genuine and respectful young men on earth.

Picture this, you're walking home with your new best friend, April O'Neil, you haven't had too many friends in school this year; whether it being a new school you've just moved to or some sort of drama pushing your old friends away, it doesn't seem to matter now. Now you have April!
Until you're cornered in an alley, dead end behind you, these weird, identical men in suits with high tech guns before you. You're sure you and April are dead... Until a group of mutant turtles — descended from what seems to be the sky — begin to attack them...
What a day!

Leonardo
• He would 100% be such a big dork
• Seriously, every time he catches you even glancing at him, he will try — and fail, miserably if I can add — to aura farm and impress you
"You're going down to the ground Raph! Prepare to fai-"

• He'd try and fail to be nonchalant, bashful as all hell he is
• Obviously, he'd be able to be level headed when needed, he isn't that hormonal
• But unless there's an enemy right in front of him?
• He's fumbling, hard.
• And lowk? It's adorable
• Everybody knows he's got the hots for you, and if you don't then you must be legally blind, deaf, and mute because jeez Louise he is not covert at all!
• There is no way that he wouldn't try to indoctrinate you into becoming a space heroes fan too, he wouldn't say it but if you did show an interest in the show he'd genuinely be over the moon!
• Doesn't need to be as extreme as his is, just a small bit is enough.
• I think he'd be protective, but he'd try so hard to be subtle about it
• He would refuse to let you go on missions, check up on you after you've left the lair, want a full debrief on your day, etc
• He wouldn't necessarily push for any of these things (minus the first, he would NOT be pleased if you went, wouldn't be able to stop you, but wouldn't be happy)
• He would really like them though
• His brothers would tease the life out of him for this, since it isn't as harmful as the last one he had, they don't really have anything against it
• So they weaponise it as they see fit
• honestly this goes for all of them on this list
Donatello
• Another dork here!
• I don't particularly have much to say on Donnie as we've already got a very well detailed case of what he's like when he's got a crush!
• Very obsessive, hyper focused on you for the first few months he's crushing on you
• A little stalkery even
• You know how he celebrated when April gave him her number? Yeah, that times ten if you ever give him yours
• Genuinely was close to actually throwing a party over that
"Yes, yes, YES! I got her number, I got her number~!"
• You're obviously going to get plenty of gifts, some genuinely useful and well thought out
• But most being useless at best and creepy at worst
• He means best, it just so happens that he learnt NOTHING from April
• An absolute mess if you ever even hinted at a reciprocal feeling
• Blushing, stuttering, complete and utter system failure
• Can not handle you dude!
• On the sweeter side, he would truly always have your best interests at heart
• Even if he's occasionally blinded with his nature as a teenage boy to be ignorant and hold a level of emotional unawareness towards those around him
• He would a million percent try and minimise that gap if asked!
Raphael
• Honestly, the chilliest one in this list
• Again, We've seen how he acts, but just very briefly!
• So — on that note — I think that it would take a bit longer for him to feel any sort of romantic pull towards you
• As the show states his type is someone strong and incredibly capable
• And you weren't really all that when he met you
• Not being rude or anything, but you were just stood there shaking like a leaf!
• Now, of you want to catch a Raph? You'd need to show that you can give a beat down, whether that be on him, a villain, or just one of your opps
• That's when the real fun begins!
• He is, funnily enough, the most nonchalant of all his brothers
• Which is funny because he isn't!
• He is kinda like a temperamental puppy, he wants your attention but isn't willing to show it much
• Very occasional tsundere moments
"I'm not sitting here because I think you're cool or anything! It's just because this spot is comfier and has a better view of the TV!"
• He will be trying to impress you though, with a slightly higher success rate than Leo and Donnie!
• He is also quite protective of you, but he's never **over** protective, if he's got the hots for you then you will have proved to him that you're a capable fighter
• I also think that he'd be super soft with you, way softer than with anyone else
• His sarcasm and brash remarks are toned down by like 70% when he's talking to you!
• It's genuinely incredible
• In full honesty, I don't see the crush stage lasting very long for Raph, he's emotionally obvious and socially oblivious enough that I think after maybe a week to a month of crushing and he'd confess
• In the end he's not the worst to be crushed on by,
• very sweet puppy love type vibes!
Michelangelo
• Mikey, Mikey, Mikey
• Where do I start?
• Well first of all, if Raph was a puppy? Then Mikey is some alien because he legitimately trails after you and whined for attention
• You know that scene where Casey asks Mikey to hang out with him?
• He is constantly like that when he's around you
• Big, watery eyes filled with such immense hope and joy that it actually looks slightly painful.
• Also very, very flirty
• And forward
• The crush stage with Mikey lasts the least amount of time out of everyone
"Hey mamas! How about; you, me, this rooftop, and a whole load of pizza. Alone, tonight?"

• He's the most emotionally intelligent of his brothers so I think this would manifest in him trying to do impressive romantic things to make you like him back
• It's rate of working is..... Debatable
• One thing I can imagine him doing is trying to get a big bouquet of roses!
• However he is a mutant turtle living in the sewers so he only managed to find some withered up tulip....
• And he spilled mutagen on it.....
• And he spoke about you so much to the tulip it got jealous and went to try and kill you.....

• Also, unless you have watched him prepare and complete each step;

• So, so, sorry for throwing you into this lifestyle
• Especially without any sort of warning
• You seem to like it, but she isn't sure if you really grasp how serious this all is..
• She'll let you play about for now
• At least she can see you even more often!
• I do think she'd be extra anxious about liking you because of Donnie's whole thing for her
• I think that if she had a serious sit down talk with him, he would back off a bit
• Especially if she told him she likes you~~~
• He'd deffo be hurt, but this isn't his head cannon section so I'm not going into anymore detail
• Once that obstacle was out of the way...
• She's also a dork
• She rivals Leo with her dorkiness
• She is so nervous she starts whipping out white people phrases
• One time Mikey asked her to get more pizza, you agreed and she responded with an awkward chuckle, a strained smile — blush dusting her cheeks, chin, and forehead a bright red;
"Okie dokie artichokie! I'll go get those in!"

• She is also protective of you, of she has her psychic powers when she falls for you then she definitely keeps an eye and ear out for you at school.
• Any attempts to spread rumours, bully, backchat, or any other petty teenage bullshit is met with a very angry April O'Neill
• And on the streets as well, hanging out or tagging along on patrol, she makes sure any large or dangerous foe's are taken out before they even glance in your direction!
• She also helps you study, also in turn, you help her study!
• It's a win-win situation!
• She hangs out with her crush, you get good grades and vice-versa
• She would also give little romantic gifts, leave a rose or two — maybe some chocolate, or a bag of sweets — in your locker with a note from a 'mysterious admirer'
• You both know it's her, but it's fun, why ruin it with words?
• I think April's crush stage would last the longest, she is anxious and awkward about moving into anything more serious!
• So she procrastinates.
• I think she'd have one of those dramatic confessions in a life or death situation of which is leaning towards the latter!
• She'd be a sick girlfriend though!
Casey
• Casey's an interesting one
• To me he reads as being quite a bitch-less player
• Meaning, he gets no huzz but he always seems to have a new crush every two weeks
• So you'd have to be pretty interesting for Casey to like you for more than that two weeks period
• Keep that in mind!
• But I think he would be infuriating for the first little while!
• Always acting like gods gift to mankind, like you should be grateful for him liking you
"Yeah, I know babe! I rock! No need to tell me."
• Like you should practically grovel and praise him for the bare minimum of like, remembering stuff or buying flowers from Walmart!
^^ I'm not American so I'm guessing that Walmart sells flowers, if they don't then tell me, I'll fix it!
• Eventually, though, his tone shifts and he becomes slightly softer with them, and you!
• He becomes more grateful for YOU!
• A shock to the system for sure!
• He is still creepy and overbearing, that won't change unless you beat it out of him
• But he gets softer around the edges, he notices more, is more outwardly caring
• Probably the second longest crush stage because when Casey genuinely likes you? He doesn't want to rush it and ruin it
