So where’s the fucking sprites sherlock?
Chill those gears. Because this year we’ll kick off with my favorite sprite edit. Just so you know I handpick this shit from homestuck itself or google images (Sometimes I may even have friends show me shitty sprites from other places they’ve found). So with that out of the way… let’s go.
You see this awfully overdetailed bitch? Yeah. Even the glasses don’t even scream homestuck and the colors don’t see just right to me. Those huge as fuck lines on the hair are unnecesary though and the hair… it’s not even properly colored. Oh and would you look at that! Colored skin on a fucking troll. Based on their goddamn canon description. That shit doesn’t even make fucking sense because that would have meant that it’d be easy as fuck to cull any trolls. Your wonderful karkat would have been easily crushed in alternia even if he survived being a grub… this bullshit is like a big red sign that says “I’m a generic troll, cull me!”. But I’ll fix that shitty headcanon and other things right away.
Yeah. He actually looks like one of those old school cool guys who actually is in cahoots with a troll ghost with a mix of modern hacker stuff thrown in. Kinda cool if you think about it.
There we go. More easier and pleasant on the eyes. Amirite? I even made that line thing he has over his face look like a cool as fuck actual glasses. Fixed the eyes and touched up the mouth. Kept the pants, shoe shape, and shirt symbol (I admit the symbol does look neat so I kept it as is) because they don’t seem to clash with the final design and I’m sure as fuck that y’all know some trolls fucking love wearing those glasses (Gold for his blood color) and because of it kept various golden highlights the same.. Except the collar which doesn’t exist. Barely changed the hair so that it actually looks like a troll and fixed the colors on the shoes. Made sure the overall skin of the troll wasn’t gray because that’s obviously how trolls actually look like… However I kept the double horns (kudos on that part of the design) because I imagined it as a cool goldblood mutation and it completely makes sense considering most trolls have a mutation of some sort thanks to the incestous slurry where they come from so the psiionics getting small mutations that enhanced their gemini aesthetic isn’t far off for me.
Now final comparison between original and finished products.
Yeah. The template exactly says untumblrized so deal with it fags. End result is actually more bearable to look at and he looks like someone that could appear on homestuck now. A hint of advice on the person whose sprite it belongs to… You could think of at least a name that isn’t Sollux Captor… lmao. Fantroll name making isn’t hard you dweeb.
That concludes the first sprite edit post. If you need any sprite edits to your fantroll to make them look better and stuff don’t be afraid, I may have bark but I don’t bite unless you’re an asshat. Any rude asks are to be directed to my asks but if you’re gonna do it as anon… I’ll probably call you a faggot if you don’t have any balls to show yourself to me.
and now for the credit. OG sprite (Which looks utterly awful in my opinion) was done by andrew hussie.
