The fluffy seed heads of one of the ironweed hybrids (Vernonia spp.) waiting to feed the wildlife along the Regent's Canal.
Photographing against the setting sun could sometimes end up with a too dark image. Shadows had need to be brightened up in post for this one to make the seed heads more visible.
It's not the most flattering photos of my floppy ironweed but I still wanted to share the rich purple.
Ironic that it's been so well behaved in the garden in spite of the Weed in it's name.
