WORKAHOLIC. Like the Salaryman, the typical workaholic’s life revolves entirely around their job. unlike the Salaryman, who is nigh-exclusively male, women have just as much potential to be a workaholic as their male counterparts. the workaholic is almost always found performing tasks related to their job, even in their time off. a hardcore workaholic will often pass up recreational exercises in order to continue with their business. they will often go on to say that they like their job and simply find it more enjoyable than alternatives. alternatively they may feel that their place of business will completely fall apart if they aren’t there to oversee every small detail. this is especially true if they are scientists, entrepreneurs or simply near the top of a chain of command/corporate ladder.
this is pretty much anzu 100%. ever since becoming an idol producer she has been tasked with the responsibility of designing and hosting events for the boys to take part in. she designs and sews all of their costumes by herself, she carefully constructs the overall theme of the event as uses the school’s money to rent out special venues ( only when she needs to; eg. the choir event ), working with the school to create 3D prop elements on stage + lighting and sound for the concert as well as manage the events in every detailed aspect of this. although these numerous tasks may seem suffocating, anzu genuinely enjoys every second of her work and actually takes complete joy in having control of the show and watching her boys shine on stage and enjoy themselves within it. she loves planning events based on the boys themselves and designing overall themes that she herself knows they will work well in.
during the span of time when anzu doesn’t have anymore work to do ( eg. directly after the finishing of an event / festival but this is for a very short time ) rather than being glad that she can rest, she is bored and complains about not having work to do. this also ties into the meaning of the workaholic - that her job is pretty much the center of her life and she feels there’s not much else to do in regards to something that makes her feel as happy as her job.
In any event, for these people working hard isn’t just a means to an end (such as a raise, promotion, corner office, etc.). They genuinely live for the job.
