If I watch Netflix's "CUTIES", as a minor– And depending on how exactly this movie is supposed to go–, could my parents sue Netflix for not only distributing child porn, but also distributing porn to a child(because, why would it be rated pg18 if it doesn't include porn? It's literally about 11 y/o female empowerment)? I genuinely don't know since, y'know, I'm a kiddo who isn't very well-versed in the law.
Just because it's rated pg18 or whatever, doesn't mean that a child like myself won't have access to it. While a minor watching an adult film is partly the parent's fault, for not taking necessary precautions against the exposing of adult content to their child,,,, Those distributing said adult content obviously didn't put any actual safeguards to ensure that those children don't get to it. Sure, maybe the pg18 tag will prevent it from showing up in an account marked as "Kid" but what happens when a child gets to the age that their parent lets them have an all-age-inclusive account?
This impressionable, innocent 13 or so year old sees this cool movie about an 11 y/o exploring her femininity or whatever, and decides that "Hey! Imma watch this, sounds super coming-of-age and empowering." And while it might be empowering or whatever, they and their parents did not sign up to be exposed to that adult content.
