Random Thought -

In Mystic Falls they say they don't introduce the kids into the issues until 18, but John knew enough at 16, and likely at 15 tbh(she gave Birth at 16, so likely they were together at 15 latest), to be telling his girlfriend about the suupernatural/vampires to sh a degree that she became Obsessed.

Also, small headcanon that John was interested/liked the idea of vampirism in the same way as Isobel as a teenager. Him and Isobel planning to both turn and have a immortal life together. Then the pregnancy happened and made everything Real.
