I reread issue no 64. Where Whisper and Silver confront Duo disguised as Mimic.

And dear God in Heaven, I do not understand all the hate Lanolin gets.

From her perspective, Whisper just came out of the bush and started ranting about how Duo was Mimic, and when Lanolin DIRECTLY asks for evidence, Whisper says she doesn't have any yet, but she will. Lanolin tries to talk down Whisper, but Whisper is the one that lays hands on Lanolin FIRST, then they start fighting - again, while Whisper is ranting about not letting it happen again.

Duo does some masterful manipulations here, and is able to effectively play everyone against each other. Reading it, I'm not angry at Lanolin, I'm angry at Whisper for losing her grip and turning into a ranting loonie.

If anything, Lanolin handled that extremely well, and if Whisper had gone and attacked a teammate while ranting like a crazy person, she'd be out of the team most anywhere else.

Finally caught up to the Sonic IDW comics, and as an absolute Silver stan, Lanolin did nothing wrong.

Lanolin gave Silver the benefit of the doubt despite him actually tripping Duo off the balcony. She trusted that Silver would have caught him and wouldn't let him get injured. She only got angry at him after he let Duo get injured.

(Lanolin has a great design and she's cute in these panels before Whisper goes on the offensive)

And Silver could have caught Duo in the air instead of dropping the ball like how I manage to fumble everything in his campaign in Project 06, but I forgive him for the plot drama. I actually like how the panels accentuate how genuinely scary Silver can appear to others with his unique powers. We know he's very honest and wants to do the right thing, but he won't appear that way to others.

My only gripe is that Whisper completely forgets the fact that she saw Duo kick Silver to break his concentration and that Silver saw Duo's eyes change when she claims to have misguided Silver. Like, Whisper, girl, you could bring up the issue with Lanolin because you literally witnessed Duo attack Silver. Whisper didn't even bring it up when Lanolin scolded Silver for a lack of control. Even if he wasn't Mimic, Silver was holding a mountain over the rest of the crew and Duo intentionally got him to drop it on them; that's enough to draw suspicion on its own.

Anyway, I actually enjoyed the chapter and I really hope Silver gets his moment when Duo is revealed to be Mimic. Don't let this be resolved without him; I need Silver redemption.
