Kirby Style!!! 💥💥💥 Today is May the 4th, Star Wars Day... and it is only fitting that we share the ONLY Star Wars character Jack ever drew, Darth Vader for the 1994 Topps Trading Card Series (pic 1)!!! It is a great drawing from The King... and may be more fitting then most people know... because many people feel that Darth Vader was inspired by Kirby’s very own Dr Doom!!! 💥💥💥 We here at Jacked Kirby absolutely LOVE Dr Doom!!! As does one of our favorite followers, @2star_gunpla (I didn’t forget... hahah)... but seems like George Lucas was also a fan. Can't Wait to Watch

Tuca and Bertie is a new animated comedy series starring Tiffany Haddish as Tuca and Ali Wong as Bertie. Tuca and Bertie are two best bird friends who live in the same apartment building (jealous). This series was created by Lisa Hanawalt, the producer and art director of Bojack Horseman. It's one of the first adult animated series from a female showrunner! And the guest stars for the first season include Tessa Thompson, Nicole Byer, John Early, Reggie Watts, Tig Notaro, and Amber Ruffin. It will be available on Netflix on May 3.

Re-Watching

Now is a great time to rewatch The OA on Netflix, because part two comes out on Friday. The trailer for the new season looks nuts and the reviews have been pretty good so far. I can't begin to imagine what will happen in part two. All I know is that I will want to talk about it. So, get caught up!

I absolutely loved the last issue of Marvel's Darth Vader comic series. I'm honestly sad to see it go. 😢

But as much as I enjoyed it was not a big fan of this line. I like many other was not happy about TLJ and I'm not going to go too into it because there's no point in beating a dead horse, but this line has always dissapointed me.

Star Wars is an epic tale of the Skywalker saga and remenants of the past have always been there to help the newer generations learn and move foward which is why I hated that line so much in TLJ. And I couldn't help but cringe when I saw it in this amazing comic series.

But other than that this finale was EPIC. This series ended with a bang and it was so cool to see the entire portal sequence finally unravel!!

#JackedKirby - Doom... TIMES THREE!!! 💥💥💥 Dr. Doom is one of the most visual stunning characters designed by Jack Kirby to come out of the early years of Marvel. The personification of fear and intimidation, Doom’s Iron masked face, hooded cloak and suit of armor are all equal parts to making him someone to fear.... and it seems as if Jack and Stan realized early on that Doom might be one of their best creations yet. Which would explain why he began popping up in titles across the line as the big bad!!! Here are three lesser known but very awesome covers featuring Victor done by Kirby... 💥💥💥 First up we have Fantastic Four #Annual2 from September of 1964. This is the long awaited “origin” story of Doom, and it features a Kirby design staple: The oversized villain with the miniaturized heroes all tangling with him at once! 💥💥💥 Next up in pic 2 we have Avengers #Issue25 from February of 1966. Here is Doom’s first appearance against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and it’s a beautiful profile cover with a plethora of hero quality facing down Doom in a town square! 💥💥💥 Last but not least we have Fantastic Four #Issue84 from March of 1969, which is one of my all time faves.
