Sorry it took me a couple weeks to get to this one, but I’m finally ready to get into Issue 57!
After finishing off the battle with Surge and Kit, Sonic as well as Jewel, Tangle, Whisper, and Lanolin (who’s now a full-fledged character!) direct their attention to the Eggperial City...
Also, this is the first time Tangle and Whisper have been together since Whisper left the Restoration, and there seems to be some tension brewing between the two due to Whisper purposefully distancing herself from Tangle (probably due to fear of losing her again after the Metal Virus arc happened and Mimic being on the loose again, not helped by her Wisps getting kidnapped in the last arc) and Tangle unknowingly crossing some boundries that are setting off some triggers for Whisper.
The group then goes to the Eggperial City to figure out why it’s growing and repairing itself and find a way to destroy it, but the mission isn’t going too well, and they find that the parts of it that were destroyed before have since been fixed.
They continue through the city to the network of tunnels underneath it and find that the city has in fact been pulling resources from below and has been using them to grow and repair itself. They then try to decide what to do next, but things get cut short when another one of Eggman’s portals opens up next to them and begins chasing them.
Tangle, Whisper, and Lanolin end up getting caught in the portal, but Sonic manages to get away and now has to wait for more help to arrive.
That’s it for Issue 57, but we also have the first preview page for Issue 58, which comes out on the 8th...

This is it! The end! (Of the arc, that is.) Everyone is focused on the central command tower: if that goes down, the city will fall. But are three teams enough to stop something it seems even Dr. Eggman can’t control?
