i do find it really funny how widespread it's become to do 'historically accurate' or 'actual bronze age' depictions of greek mythological figures with those red stars/suns/rosettes painted on the women's cheeks and chin. because that's on one mycenaean artifact. one (1). none of the wall paintings show this kind of make-up or any painted faces anything like this, no pottery, no other statues. just this single highly unusual plaster head that may or may not even belong to a depiction of a human.
