favourite shakespearean fool??

So, I had to pull up a list to remind myself of all the ‘fool’ characters in the canon, because I’m absolutely terrible with remembering these sorts of things. And I haven’t done too much work with fool characters, so that might be something to look into. (So all of these characters were included on a list on Wikipedia, so whether they’re a ‘fool’ could be debatable).
But! I think my favorite one has to be Autolycus from The Winter’s Tale! That whole story is very similar to Daphnis and Chloe, which is one of my favorite Greek tales. Autolycus is somewhat similar to the character of Lampis from that myth. We also did a few fun activities with one of the scenes he was in during lecture in my Shakespeare class last semester (including translating everything into 21st century language - what turned into a complete disaster, but it was fun!)
I also enjoy The Fool from King Lear. (I need to do a lot more research into that character for a writing project I’m working on - but I’m really excited to dive back into the text again.)
