How can I be normal when Saxon looks like he's trying to stop Lochy but as soon as their lips touch he just melts and gives into it? And his hand on Lochy's neck?????
I think these came from the same kiss, but the second part/shot was used in Saxon's recollection WHICH BY THE WAY
His recollection of the night feels so intimate. And the way the kiss was included, right after Chloe kisses Lochlan on the bed, makes it seem like they kissed some more during the night? At least that's probably what Saxon thinks that happened.
i'm fine i'm so normal about them (i also needed a reason to gif the kiss even thought it's been gif'd 10000 times lmao)
hi! i just read your take on the timothee vs opera/ballet discourse and as a musicology student and someone with a family member who is a professional opera singer i thought i’d give some #thoughts! probably nothing you haven’t already read from someone else but i feel like rambling with someone. i agree with you that yes, it is a dying art form and especially in finland (hello fellow finn!) the lack of funding and the current audience demographic dying and younger ppl not getting interested are all very true things. it obviously doesn’t help that it’s fucking expensive and there’s so! many! problematic things happening in the world of opera and ballet. and even tho my whole family is classically trained in music, me included, i’m the first to shit on the god awful structures of the world of classical music (and especially opera/ballet).
but. my main problem with timothee’s take is the lack of understanding that so many of the ppl making music for the movies he acts in are *gasps* classically trained musicians. and the art of film wouldn’t even exist if it wasn’t for opera, ballet and theatre. and he is a theatre kid so i thought he would be able to word his thoughts a bit better. (and yeah i’m just disappointed bc i actually like him and find him a very good actor, i guess hanging out with the kardashians is finally completely rotting his brain lmao)
dunno really why i’m rambling to you hahah, i’ve just seen some insane takes and yours was something i could kinda relate to compared to the ppl who are too in it to see that there is some truth in his very badly executed words (i.e., the whole classical music scene in finland, i’m tired of them suddenly acting like opera and ballet are flourishing lmao) or the ppl who clearly do not know anything about opera and ballet and are just hopping on the drama for the sake of… idk? trying to sound sophisticated?? or morally better?? gahhhh truly, pls name me at least 3 operas and while we’re at it tell me when was the last time you went to see an opera/ballet performance. oh? never? thought so. so yeah, thought i’d give you my two cents since i love yapping about stuff related to music.
and! while i’m here, i’ll just say that your fics are *chef’s kiss* 🤌🏻 making a comeback to ao3 and tumblr at the ripe age of 31 after taking a 5-year break from fandoms has been… something!
heyyy and no worries about ever rambling about music-related stuff because i am a musician as well, even though i don't know anything about opera (i've been to a performance once and it was in december because it was on my and my friends' bucket list for years). anyway, thank you so much for the thoughtful take!! my own take in some rando's tags got a lot more attention than i thought it would when i was typing it out on the metro this morning lmao but i'm glad to see that people care about the topic.
me and my buddies actually put timothee's interview on the background while we were working on something, so i listened to the whole 1h interview and it was quite interesting. while i agree that his point was very poorly articulated, it was actually taken out of context as well. he said the "no one cares about opera and ballet" -line right after his main point about how he's worried that his field, the film industry, would go down the same route as opera/ballet because people are not going to the cinema anymore. he wasn't positioning himself as someone better than the people doing opera/ballet. he was trying to start a conversation about how the entertainment industry is not..... doing very well atm.
my issue about the discourse is that everyone jumped on the timothee celebrity cancel culture hate train instead of focusing on what's actually important. THE WHOLE OF ENTERTRAINMENT INDUSTRY EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD IS DYING A SLOW PAINFUL DEATH. people are talented, passionate, and willing to work hard, but there's literally no jobs, no opportunities. everyone is basically jobless in the industry right now. no one wants to go and pay and watch anything anymore. the whole marty supreme marketing campaign was them literally begging for people to go to the cinema and watch the film, and it worked but only because it was so huge.
Thinking about Wymack picking up Neil from the airport at new years. It takes him a while to spot Neil because of course his hair is back to it's natural colour but Wymack would notice those hunched over shoulders anywhere, shoulders that look like they're carrying a weight so heavy Wymack would never know the pressure of it. And that's how he knows it's his Neil. His hands always fisted around the strap of that goddamn duffle bag.
Then Neil is sitting in Wymack's car, and he can sense the tension in Neil's body, the careful way he holds himself hiding how much pain he's in, how broken he is in that moment. Neil falls asleep within minutes, so Wymack spends the rest of the journey driving as careful as he possibly can so as not to jostle Neil in the car as he sleeps. He turns the heating up too keeping Neil warm and comfortable. He tries not to think about all the questions that make his grip tighten on the steering wheel.
Next is the mission of getting Neil up to his apartment. He doesn't want to wake him, though it doesn't seem like it would be possible right now anyway. Neil seems completely gone. If it wasn't for the steady rise and fall of his chest he could be dead. So Wymack grabs Neil's bag, throws it over himself before gently reaching into the car to carry Neil out. He's heavier than Wymack would have expected, considering how small he seemed when he first spotted him hunched over on the curb outside the airport.
The ride up on the elevator seems longer than usual, and at some point Wymack feels the weight of Neil's head falling back so he gently shifts him so his head lands on Wymack's shoulder instead. He sighs deeply and curses under his breath, at what he doesn't know. For a second he's back in the hallway of his apartment watching Neil flinch from him for the first time, and now he's asleep broken and bruised in his arms. There's something to be said about the irony in that he's sure.
Finally he's in his apartment, gently laying Neil down onto his sofa. He pries his shoes off and then hesitates. His hands moving automatically to unzip Neil's coat to make him more comfortable, but he doesn't want to touch him without his consent. So, he leaves the jacket. He shoves a pillow under his head though, his hand resting atop Neil's now burnt orange curls a second longer than was necessary.
He drags his desk chair into the room, careful not to make too much noise. He needs to be by his side, needs to be there when Neil wakes up so he doesn't panic. He pours himself a drink and watches Neil sleep, his eyes fixed on his chest again, focused on that steady rise and fall. Wymack drinks. Neil sleeps. Those million questions are running through his head again, but the most burning and pressing of them all is how could I let this happen to one of my kids?
the fact that mike and will lost contact but will still decided to make a special painting for mike of their d&d party (which is so special to both of them and also a callback to their last private conversion where mike asks if will wants to join another party and will says "not possible") because will loves him so much and he missed him and he thought that giving him the painting would show that he was thinking about him the entire time and kept his promise about never joining another party even when they weren't with each other and that's why will was so excited for him to come visit but then mike arrived and couldn't even hug him properly which probably broke will and made him feel awkward and unwanted so he didn't feel comfortable giving him the painting anymore but then when he finally does give it to him he can't even tell mike that it was from him and he can't express his own feelings because it's so hard for him and the timing was awful so instead he tries to help his best friend aka the boy he's loved most of his life fix his crumbling relationship with his girlfriend because he noticed he was upset about it because THAT is how kind and loving and selfless will byers is to everyone around him even when he's treated like shit and doesn't get the love he deserves in return and it's absolutely heartbreaking
geto suguru's storyline is devastating to think about i feel so ILL. it's heartbreaking. i keep thinking about his fate and how he deserved none of it. he threw himself into jujutsu society believing a noble cause/principle only to be let down in the most gutwrenching way ever. he watched a person he cared about die in front of him of course he'd end up spiraling of course he would end up questioning if continuing on with his path is worth it. he was a kid. i don't know. burnt out from being among the strongest. that makes sense too because when you're strong people rely on you for more and when you have more then you see more of everything. more deaths and more blood and more curses. and amidst his spiral and burnout and loneliness the very dangerous thoughts he was only beginning to think about were nurtured and entertained by someone else and that pushed him off the precipice. it's sad. really i don't like thinking about it
