Hector, New York April 21, 2018 Local sustainable fashion brand Themis and Thread is inviting everyone to join in on Fashion Revolution Week April 23-29. Fashion Revolution (.org) is a world wide campaign shedding light on the real human and environmental costs of fast fashion. The annual effort is scheduled around the anniversary of the deadliest fashion factory accident the world has seen: The Rana Plaza Factory collapse in Dhaka, Bangladesh on April 24, 2013 which took the lives of over 1,000 exploited garment workers. That tragedy was what inspired designer Jesse Junko Beardslee to start Themis and Thread five years ago. The award winning ethical apparel brand focuses on 100% American Made components, Organic Cottons, Vintage Materials, and Upcycled Accents to create customizable clothing and unique accessories. Themis and Thread will be sponsoring three Fashion Revolution Week events in Hector, New York during Fashion Revolution Week focusing on free and inexpensive ways to refresh your existing wardrobe.
