"Dear past me" ! Go! Write that letter ;-))
Oh my, this should be quite good. (And thank you, just got home from class)
First of all, I’m proud of you. Even though your cool credibility took a massive hit, you continued to stick with dance classes because you love it. Most people would have given into peer pressure, but you kept doing what you enjoyed. You’ll look back on these times during adulthood and not regret a thing. And I promise you, none of those people you had to deal with are even relevant in your life in the future, so piss on ‘em. You do you. Good girl.
I wish you had more faith in yourself - but it’s okay. You’ll continue to learn and grow. Confidence isn’t going to happen over night, and just remember, you don’t have to have everything figured out by the time you leave high school. Take that time off after graduation, enter the workforce. Enter the military. They’ll be good for you, and you’ll learn a lot. You don’t have to go to college until you’re ready. So look at that huge box of college brochures you’ve been collecting for two years and tell it to screw off. You wouldn’t have done well in college right out of high school. You need the time, and you need the direction. And don’t worry about all those people pressuring you - they just want you to do well. You do, too, but don’t stress about it. Life isn’t a sprint.
You’re gonna screw your life up. Just warning you now. There are going to be some huge decisions that you’re going to totally botch. It’s okay. Everyone does it, even though it looks like everyone has their shit together, they totally don’t.
And finally, don’t give up. I’m fucking awesome, and I’m waiting for you. :P
