HELLO!! I want to take a moment to apologize for my absence !! I got caught up in Christmas and New Years that I just didn't have enough time to get on here and write something good. But, with all the holdiays and special days out of the way, I'm free to write to my hearts content!! :)
Also, before you read this, I just want to let you know that the reason I wrote this was because I suffer from frequent anxiety/panic attacks and I guess I just wanted to feel a little reassurance through it. I also hope to bring you guys some comfort reading this. Also, this is a little bit different from my usual posts. they're usually lists of different hcs or just little scenarios. instead, this is kind of like a headcanon/fic in itself. so I hope you enjoy :)
(also this includes M!user since this is a boys volleyball team)
The sounds of volleyballs smacking against the floor echoed throughout the gym as the Inarizaki boys practiced their spikes. they were filed into two lines along with two letters to the side who would set the ball up high as the person next in line would run and spike it. then the next person would, and so on. It was their usual warm ups. stretching, practicing spikes, serves, sets, hits, etc. etc. But the captain of the volleyball team noticed something was wrong. different. missing.
"has anyone seen y/n?" kita called out to his teammates. He looked at each of them, waiting for a response. instead, every single one of them either replied with a short, "no, haven't seen him," "no," "nah," or just a shake of the head.
being the team captain, he kept his eye on his teammates. it was partially his job to count attendance. (only partially because that was the coach's job, but their coach wasn't here since this was a Saturday morning practice, which the team's coach doesn't usually attend.)
"He might've skipped," Suna suggested with a shrug.
Kita thought about it for a moment, but eventually decided on the fact that, no, you wouldn't do that.
"No, y/n's pretty passionate about volleyball. I doubt he'd skip a practice without at least messaging one of us to tell us why."
kita stared at the floor for a minute, internally debating whether he should go to the clubroom to grab his phone from his bag and either message or call y/n to ask where he was. well, that was until Osamu spoke up.
"Well, I saw 'em earl'r this mornin'," he said, his words laced with his thick accent. "Iunno where he went though." Osamu shrugged and looked up at Kita.
well, great. that didn't help one bit
"no one saw him walk away or something?" kita asked, looking around again at the boys. he was met with, yet another, disappointing shake of heads.
the captain let out a frustrated sigh. he truly cared about you. hell, he might as well have had a crush on you. he would never admit it out loud though. but he did care about you and was concerned about your absence.
"right, well, get back to practice, I'm gonna go search around and see if I can find him," he instructed his team, before turning around on his heel to go search for his missing teammate.
he immediately went to the supply closet at the corner of the gym. he felt it was the most obvious place to hide or be in if you were trying to avoid someone. he didn't know exactly if y/n was trying to avoid anyone, but he decided to check anyway.
Kita opened the door to the supply closet with a short creaking noise. Light poured into the dark closet as a result of opening the door and Kita could see y/n sitting down near the corner of the closet.
A soft, confused frown made its way to Kita's face at the sight. He cautiously walked over, not wanting to alarm you or scare you in any way.
"Are you alright?" Kita whispered in a soft, quiet tone.
The sudden voice was enough to make you flinch, immediately whipping your head up to look at the source of the noise. When you realized it was Kita, your captain, you somewhat relaxed, body less tense now.
Kita kneeled down next to you, trying to get a good look at your face. He could see the tear stains runnning down your cheeks, the way your eyes were red and the skin around it puffy and raw from wiping your eyes.
You soon realized you hadn't given Kita an answer to his question before, so you murmur out an, "not really."
Kit anods at the answer, not really knowing how else to react. He takes a minute to fully sit down next to you. He isn't sure what's wrong, but from the tears and the quiet, but heavy breathing, he couldn't help but to put two and two together and figure out you were currently experiencing a panic attack.
Kita himself has had panic attacks in the past and he knows what works for him, but everyone's different. What usually works for him might not work for you. So he decides to stay cautious.
He hesitantly places a hand on your shoulder, scanning your face or body language to see if you were uncomfortable or not. You weren't uncomfortable. Far from it, actually. So he took it as a sign to go a bit further by gently rubbing the palm of his hand up and down your back.
"it's gonna be okay," he murmured quietly.
He carefully squeezed your shoulder and flashed a warm smile at you.
Kita was always optimistic. He was always looking at the bright side. You couldn't help yourself and let a small smile lay on your lips at his reassurance.
"We can stay in here for as long as you want." Kita had no idea if isolating yourself into a small, dark supply closet usually helped with your panic attacks, or if you were just hiding away from everyone because you didn't want anyone to see you in this state, but he still offered to stay in there with you because he thought it might be a little more comfortable for you.
Amorudo Headcanons, because they are good for the soul.
Character-Driven Headcanons
Amo is the first person Rudo relaxes around without realizing it. His shoulders drop, his tone changes, but he also can't help but be nervous around her too because
1. He has a crush and
2. He's not used to anyone, especially not a pretty girl, having so much trust and faith placed onto him.
He also finds it easier to sleep around her, especially when she sings.
Rudo pretends not to notice when Amo hovers nearby, but he always positions himself, so she’s within his prehiapal vision.
Rudo is gentler with Amo than he is with anyone else. (Hardly feels like a headcanon, honestly)
It would definitely be a "she fell first, he fell harder" type situation with them.
I feel like Amo would definitely be the one to initiate their first kiss. Like it would be in a situation where maybe Rudo has to leave for a serious mission and their not sure if everyone going to make it or they'll be gone for a while and they don't know when they'll come back and so Amo to have no regrets, gives him the lightest peck on the lips while their having a serious and genuine moment and then proceeds to tell him "Try not to miss me too much", leaves and Rudo is just left there gobsmacked.
Domestic / Quiet Moments
Amo would 100% sing along to songs on the radio. Rudo pretends to hate it. He does not. He loves to hear her sing.
Speaking of voice, at some point when Rudo does realise that he is in fact inlove with Amo, when he first hears her voice through his chocker after this realisation, his heart skips a beat because her voice is so close.
Rudo might have a bit of a hard time sharing his sweets with her, but her just batting her big doe eyes is enough to make him fold all but immediately. Yes, this would also work for Blossom too.
Since I mentioned blossom, an Atlus headcanon that I have is that he had attempted to go through a 'parents eww' phase. But this mad Amo sad, so he dropped it pretty quickly.
Altus and Blossom are AmoRudo's fan kids.
And that's all I have for now, I hope you enjoyed it, love your art 💕 and just seeing you discuss Amorudo. I wanted to send you this, to express my appreciation.
Rudo relaxes around without realizing it. His shoulders drop, his tone changes,
real for this because i felt this a lot when Tamsy tried picking on him when they left the infirmary when Tamsy was all stupid like "arent you MAD at the person who hurt her? she looks so terrible because of that villain arent you ANGRY? dont you want REVENGE?" and Rudo was like "iunno about revenge i just dont get why anyone would do something like this, did Amo really manage to make enemies like that?" he's like emotionally drained (left it all in the room with HER) and confused. (i'm just gushing about that scene now sorry) he kind of touched Amo's soul and saw her heart and even though Amo herself says "i deserved what happened to me" you know by Rudo's confused reaction he doesnt agree at all, even if she said "i hurt many people" hes just - nah. ANYWAY AMO PACIFYING HIM IS A THROUGHLINE. IT KEEPS HAPPENING and its the best
He also finds it easier to sleep around her, especially when she sings.
love the thought of her singing...its such a cute girly princessy trait she has to have it. Rudo probably lost his mind (like he does anytime Amo does anything tho) first time she sung in front of him like she is constantly amazed by her and she is so gentle and everything about Amo is so beautiful
he always positions himself, so she’s within his prehiapal vision.
real guard wolf moment
Amo would definitely be the one to initiate their first kiss
i think we are all in agreement on this because Rudo will NOT do a damn thing on his own. But its okay because Amo has a 100 step plan on building a perfect romance in her head and she follows it with determination. And while we all agree that Amo is 95% more likely be the one to brave it and cross that line - if in remaining 5% Rudo initiates the kiss himself - no surprises, giving Amo every warning and asking a gazillion wordless permissions (like Rudo cupping the side of Amo's face and Amo holds his hand there like YES. PLEASE. I WANT YOU TO DO THIS. him looking at her curiously when he steps in closer for ANY sign of her backing away and Amo responds by moving in closer and so on)
IF RUDO INITIATED THEIR FIRST KISS. RUDO BEING RUDO HE WOULD WAIT OUT FOR THE RIGHT TIME AND DO HIS BEST TO MENTALLY PREPARE AND GAUGE IN ADVANCE IF AMO WANTS IT (she wants it so badly shes got neon signs around her that say "is dying to be kissed by you") IT WOULD BE AMO'S DREAM!!!!!! as much as i think she is the locomotive in their romance, Rudo being proactive is ALWAYS so beautiful because he is so gentle with her and so thoughtful and sincere. Making Amo fall for him all over again.
Amo would 100% sing along to songs on the radio. Rudo pretends to hate it. He does not. He loves to hear her sing.
no!!!!!!! he would not!!!!!!!!!! he is so nice and appreciative of creativity. its okay i fall into common tropes too when im running my mouth on here, but in this case i have to cut it off because Rudo does not have that "im too cool for this" he is just cool as hell by being appreciative of people, and ESPECIALLY appreciative of Amo. he would be very honest about liking it.
but her just batting her big doe eyes is enough to make him fold all but immediately. Yes, this would also work for Blossom too.
i bet that she is battling those lashes not even because she wants sweets that much, for her seeing Rudo fold and give them up is the actual sweetest part. and yes baby daughter. he is absolutely helpless against her
Since I mentioned blossom, an Atlus headcanon that I have is that he had attempted to go through a 'parents eww' phase. But this made Amo sad, so he dropped it pretty quickly.
yeah i love that a lot. i can also imagine during that phrase he saw other local children be very sweet with Amo while he was trying to be grumpy and Atlus got SO JEALOUS that he dropped it. HIS MOM!!!!!! HER LOVE IS ALL HIS!!!
And that's all I have for now, I hope you enjoyed it, love your art 💕 and just seeing you discuss Amorudo. I wanted to send you this, to express my appreciation.
The lazy morning sun seeped through the clear windows as Kaylee stirred peacefully. There was a warmth of the body next to her that glowed with a gentle beat of daylight. His torso, bear as he sat up watching her come out of her slumber.
She wiped the sleep out of her eyes and found his gaze. There was something so delicate behind his eyes. An almost solemn look behind those normally clear blue skies. It made her wonder how much their trysts affected him. Each time they both agreed should be the last. There was so much pain Kaylee was still recovering from. So much in her life in the past several years that she needed to face, but every time Adam entered all that pain seemed to melt like morning snow meeting the sun after a long dark winter.
There was a part of her that wanted to throw caution to the wind, a part of her that wanted nothing more than to throw her heart into him - to the one person in her life who may actually deserve it - but there was another part of her that hide away from him. Her hesitation wasn't just caused by those scars on her heart. She knew every moment with Adam was fleeting. He was here now, and he'd be here for a while, but only because his calling brought him to her. One day he'd be called somewhere else in the universe and her bed would miss his warmth.
That thought alone caused her to hide her heart. To pull her punches when it came to what she felt. Sophie would call her out every time. That De Nile was a river in Egypt as she liked to say. But how could Kaylee ever ask more from him? He was her savior in every sense of the word. That should be enough.
"Hmm morning." she hummed in a hoarse whisper leaning over to press soft lips against his. Her reddened hair cascaded down her back in loose waves.
She rolled over, grabbing her phone off the bedside table to check the time. "Oooh I got a whole three hours of sleep I think that's the record since Damien was born." she beamed before sighing contently looking at the baby monitor where Damien lay sleeping soundly in the adjoining room.
Most nights his bassinet stayed securely in her bedroom, but another aspect of Adam's presence brought with him a comfort to allow space for Kaylee to rest without the constant worry that something would befall them in her sleep.
She rolled back to face Adam, curling up to his side and nuzzling into him as she burrowed under the covers. She looked up to him, that concern still etched into his features. With a soft touch, her palm found his cheek, fingertips brushing precariously along his skin.
"What's wrong darling. You seem...pensive. I'd think after last night you'd be iunno more relaxed?"
"Now I'm positive I banned those, kitten." The elf stretched out languidly under the sheets with a pleased hum, then set one hand on Leon's fuzzy chest. "Must you?"
Leon smirked and curled one arm around the thirsty thing's waist, but didn't pull him closer. If he did that they'd never get anywhere. ...Well, they'd get somewhere, but it wouldn't be to a conversation. "No, but I'd rather now than, say, in th' middle o' th' next round. Pretty sure you'd agree, hey?"
Celedyn half lifted out of the bed, blue eyes wide and scandalized. “Oh you wouldn’t dare! If you stop in the middle of rutting into me because you want to have an intellectual conversation I will absolutely refuse to forgive you! For the majority of an evening at LEAST!”
"There, see? So I'm bein' perfectly reas'nable askin' now, aren't I?" He chuckled and noisily smooched his cheek. "Yer faith tha' I 'ave tha' kind o' focus in th' moment is flat'rin', though.”
He gave a huff and resigned himself to collapsing into the pillows, voice half muffled by a squished cheek. “Fine! Fine! What’s your serious question then?”
Leon rolled onto his side, propping himself up on his elbow. "D'you enjoy it? Th' immortality thin'? I mean... yer 'appy tha' way, right?"
“I’m not… technically immortal. It just seems that way some times.”
"Tch. Long-lived enough t' make it semantic, at least."
“You’re longer lived than some things. I’m longer lived than some things. But as far as enjoying it? Mmmnh…. It has ups and it has downs.”
Leon’s mouth twisted up a little bit right at first before he slid one hand across it, almost literally wiping the expression off his face. "Y'don't make a secret o' th' ups. So... th' downs?"
He caught that look and reached over to tweak one of the Gilnean’s nipples, drawing a terribly undignified little squeak out of the man. “Oh, surely you don’t want to spoil the moment with that sort of talk, kitten! It’s a dreary topic!”
Leon swatted at the offending hand. "I'm sure it comes as a shock tha' I am occasionally a morose thin'! M' bloody Gilnean, aren't I?" Celedyn let his hand be swatted away, though it returned a moment later to help itself to the carpet of fur on his chest. Leon let him play, though he kept a wary eye on where those fingers were for a little bit.
“Very well, if you insist, somber it is. There are several things, but I think I made things quite a bit harder on myself leaving Quel’Thalas. It’s obvious to say but but it’s quite a hard thing, outliving everyone you meet and every place you go.”
"...Was kinna 'opin' y'wouldn't say tha', even if I knew y' would. 'Ow does a guy even start t' deal with tha'?"
“Oh, I won’t lie to you, kitten. It was hard at first--I didn’t have any experience with it. I had experienced people dying, but not the sort of… increasing inevitability of it. There was a time I just sort of… tried to lose people after a decade or two to avoid it.”
"Mm." That rang very familiar bells for Leon, and it showed, but he wasn't gonna draw attention to it if Celedyn didn't. "An' now?"
“Now? It’s… it’s something I sort of grew acclimated to over time. I miss people, I mourn people, but I also remember that I only miss them because of the wonderful experience we shared while they were here, hm?”
The Gilnean glanced down at the hand trying its best to tangle itself in his chest hair, then brushed his fingertips across the back of it. "Does it ever make y'... Iunno, 'estitate t'get near anybody t' begin with?'
Celedyn pursed his lips, considering. “To… an extent. I mean, I get close to people, but it’s different isn’t it? I know I’ll eventually be going on without them; and it’s hard for them as well, knowing that even if I’m on every page of their book, they’ll be a chapter in mine?”
That drew a wry huff of a laugh from the man before he snatched up Celedyn's hand to nip at one of those manicured fingers. "I spose it's best t' aim fer bein' one o' th' more int'restin' chapters."
A smile spread over the elf’s features as he withdrew his thumb, barely escaping the nip only to rub the nail over his lower lip. “Oh, you’re turning out to be an absolutely delicious one, darling.” The only reason Leon didn't smile was because he was too focused on the pleasant little buzz that nail sent down his spine.
"Hmh, a lesser man might've made a crack about dog-eared pages, I'd wager..."
“Mnh! And why do people dog-ear pages?” He shifted, leaning over the other man with a lazy grin. “Because it’s a chapter where they love to return.”
Well aware they were starting to drift away from the topic, but not willing to care all that much for that much longer, Leon purred and tilted his head back. "Flat'ry, now?"
“One of many things contributing to my reputation for a silver tongue!”
"I feel like we've treaded these waters b'fore. If yours is silver, diva, what's mine?"
“Squandered at present!”
"Let me guess," he sat up a bit further to try and steal a sharp bite under Celedyn's jaw, "Better between yer thighs than chat'rin' an' broodin'?" Celedyn gasped in delight as he was bitten, tipping his head to offer up a new target. “I suspect you’re right, but there’s only one way we can be absolutely certain.”
At last, Leon dragged him in good and close, the better to cover his bared throat in bright red hickeys and bite marks to their hearts' content. "Y'know, at this rate, we're never gonna get t' try th' wax I bought."
Bright blue eyes popped wide as the elf let himself be hauled in. “You should have mentioned that at the start!!”
"You didn't let me" bubbled up from somewhere under his chin, hard to understand both because Leon was laughing and because he refused to stop biting him.
“I absolutely refuse to take responsibility for the consequences of my actions! You know that!”
"Now, see, tha' does not sound like beggin' t' be lit up like th' Wickerman at 'arvest."
Celedyn beamed, smoothing his palms over the other man’s chest as he lofted his chin just a little bit higher. “Every single year!”
Answering the fondling with a trail of much-too-light kisses up the front of Celedyn's throat and ending at his chin, Leon smirked. "I'm torn. Is it a better repayment fer a mis'rable conversation t' drive you wild makin' you beg for it, or is it better t' just pamper you by givin' it t' you right now?"
The elf huffed lightly, knowing full well that those little kisses were deliberately teasing him. “When I answer, do I have to pretend it doesn’t drive you wild when I beg as well?”
"We both know you're not tha' good of an actor, luv."
“I’ve never let that stop me.”
"One o' yer many admirable qualities."
Celedyn grinned and leaned in to run his tongue along the shell of the Gilnean’s ear. “Ah, you’re catching on.” Another soft laugh escaped from the human, though of course it was a bit breathier this time. Then, Leon got his hands under Celedyn's ass and squeezed hard. "Tell me then, diva; slow, sensual pleasurefuck, or wild ruttin' till dawn?"
Shamelessly pressing himself back into the rough squeeze, settling his ass into the Gilnean’s palms, Celedyn’s voice became a low, pleased purr as he answered, “I want you to fuck me so hard that I can scarcely remember my own name.”
Feigning deep consideration, Leon kneaded lazily at his wriggly handful. Celedyn huffed lightly as Leon took his time pretending, trying to fake a pout, but he just couldn’t keep his mouth from spreading into a pleased smile. When he’d finally settled on an answer, Leon sat up just enough to bump his forehead into the elf's. "Y'know, I think I just might be able t' accommodate tha'."
Celedyn nosed at Leon’s cheek, letting his hands wander up the Gilnean’s torso and into his hair, nails raking his scalp. “You know just the way to spoil me rotten.” And with that he pressed a delighted kiss to the other man’s lips.
I open my eyes to the familiar ceiling of my shop, as I try to blink sleep away. What was that dream I had?
Nevermind. I don't think I can remember it.
I allow myself to do a few morning stretches before I head downstairs to open shop. Asra is nowhere to be seen, but that's not uncommon. So I prepare my tea, alone.
"Your master's gone already, huh?" I asked with a sigh to the stove salamander. It only bleps back at me. I shake my head and laugh, "it shouldn't be a surprise, but, it seems like I'll never stop missing him."
I stood up and cleaned the kitchen. There's the murkroot, myrrh, Asra's bag...
Wait. Asra's bag! I can't believe he forgot his own bag! I know he's an amazing magician but without his usual props, or The Arcana, he could've forgotten something important! I hurry to get my coat, and put on the "closed" sign on the shop, almost forgetting to use a protection spell on the door in my haste. I have to find him.
-
The market is already bustling, despite the early hour. You think I'd be lost in such a hustle, but I know my way by heart.
A familiar voice greets me.
"Morning, MC!"
"Hi, Selasi! I- "
Well... it turns out it is a struggle to get through, even if it's just to greet my favorite pumpkin bread baker.
"Excuse me- watch that please! Yes- I have to go-"
Breathless when I reach Selasi, he lets out a friendly laugh.
"Morning a bit rough?" he asked in a warming tone as he hands me my pumpkin bread.
"That would be an understatement," I roll my eyes playfully.
I gratefully accept my pumpkin bread with a smile.
"Thank you, Selasi. I'm in a bit of a rush to find a certain getaway magician here, have you seen him around?"
Selasi lets out a bark of laughter. "Oh! I thought you'd never ask!"
"Selasi! How dare you never tell me!"
I sigh dramatically with a hand to my forehead.
Still laughing, Selasi answers.
"Well listen here kiddo, he jus' told me to tell ya' he's in a special par' of the forest. Iunno what he means but some'in tells me ya know it," he said with a wink ;)
I can't help but turn tomato red.
"I uh- yes! Of course I know. Ahaaa- well see you later then!"
I take a chance to flee off before I can embarass myself any further, Selasi's laughter still behind me.
"If ya need more pumpkin bread jus' tell me!"
-
A special part of the forest. There's only one meaning to that.
I use the familiar warmth of my magic to lead me through the enchanted forest, until I stop before.. the cave.
This cave. This is our little secret. Asra's and mine.
I step through the dark threshold, trying to recall Asra's soothing voice in my head. I close my eyes and breathe in.
"Let your magic be your guide, I believe in you."
I can feel the cave starting to light up, detailed ornaments paint the walls in the name of my magic.
It's as if I can feel his presence here. His warm hand on my waist, his steady breathing on my hair, his soft carress on my cheeks, the familiar scent of herbs on his clothes, his fluffy hair dancing in the wind...
I let myself feel my way through the cave, eyes still closed. It's my magic that guides me, after all.
With each step I feel stronger, warmer, calmer. With each step his image feels more clear, more real, more...
-
"I see that you've finally found me."
A jolt of shock runs through my veins. I stand at the edge of a waterlily pool. Before my very eyes..
Asra. His body drenched in warm water. His hair damp, white as snow. His skin, soft and glistening in the subtle light of my magic. His eyes, tender as the lily itself.
"You- uh- how are you here without telling me?"
I try to hold back the look of blatant adoration on my face. I can feel my cheeks turning bright tomato again. "More importantly, why did you even leave without your bag?"
He lets out a laugh.
"That's the point! You know I hesitated, thinking if you didn't notice I left my bag, I'd be soaked here forever without any props or any magic!"
But that's not true. I know he's capable of great things, even without any props or magic. Then again, this isn't really the point here.
"Riiiiight," I reply with a cheeky grin.
"So," he continues as he glides through the water, "are you here just to scold me?"
I might as well. But I know I'm not here just for that.
The last time I was in this pool, he had to save me. I wasn't familiar with myself, nor my magic. But this time...
"You've made it this far, MC," he smiles warmly at me, "don't be afraid to take another step."
I gently put one foot on the first lilypad, steadying myself. I can do this. One step at a time. One thought at a time.
Asra... I know he's waiting for me on the other side. I know he's watching over me.
But this time, he didn't have to. I've made it to the other side of the pool, safe and dry.
The light at the center could never outshine his smile when he realized I made it. I take a final step, down in the pool, and into Asra's arms.
"I knew you could make it."
"Well, you've always taught me how"
"No, you've had it in you all this time."
I couldn't argue. Why would I?
Here, in the stillness of the pool, the soft sound of water in my ears, the warmth of Asra on my skin, I couldn't ask for more.
Please gearbox I am begging you just change the techspert mod's unique skill... it is so useless with Zane's current skill set at higher levels- and higher levels are when players are mostly going to be using legendary gear
The disparity between class mod usefulness via the unique skills in this game is soooo bad. In bl2 for example I could equip a legendary mod and get +5 in the listed skills the VH already has that I know work and want significantly buffed, because the tier 1 skills on each character were still pretty useful. This game you only get +5 across all listed skills which is fine cuz then u get the unique effect, the obvious draw this time around, but some of them are baaaaad
Tl;dr: I cry but also suggest class mod reworks? That are probably op with the current anointment system but shhh we'll fix that later too. I promise (ʘ‿ʘ✿)
I know it isn't just Zane who needs class mod buffs or reworks (I've seen some pretty bad Amara ones too, I'm sure Fl4k and Moze have some rough mods as well but I have less experience), but as a Zane main with the newest patch, hsgahakwygdiwjdks
Every sntnl build atm already has the drone out constantly without that mod, there's no reason to use it as the skill buffs in this game are not significant enough to warrant it, and the unique skill is useless. The difference between techspert or cold warrior and a mod like Seein Dead or even the executor mod is really sad. Only way the first 2 are viable is if ur playing at early levels and get a lucky or vending machine drop. But u can go to handsome jackpot and get an infinitely better mod there if you've got the dlc cuz the drop rate is incredibly high. I don't get it, those types of mods are basically just filler for the loot pool? Which really shouldn't happen with legendary gear when you have a ton of randomly generated guns for that purpose which is one of the highlights of ur marketing for the game.
If they wanted the mod to be useful for lower level characters who didn't spec into duration skills and don't grind until max level, fine, I guess? But the mod can still be useful for lower level characters AND higher level characters. Maybe change the skill to all of Zane's action skill durations/cooldowns get reset on kill? That'd be an incredible buff and keep the spirit of the mod intact. Hell it'd even buff the barrier since it buffs that trees skills ANYWAY. Srsly tho why it have a zoomer buff if it is a barrier tree mod. I don't get it. It's forcing a very specific playstyle cuz the +3-5 skill buffs are only really useful when u already have 4-5 in a skill outside of, like, brain freeze. If it gave a +5 in every skill like bl2 then I could see using it with zoomer without having to go down under cover but it doesn't soooo u have to get very lucky with the 1 skill u want to use?
Also. Cold Warrior is such a bad mod. I used it a bit after release at level 50 Zane bc I was trying for a cryo Zane and it was okay, but now at 65 with Mayhem 11, it is so bad. Why the random Dots. Zane isn't even supposed to be the elemental character beyond cryo unless I'm missing something Very Important. He had the shock damage when not targeted skill, but then they changed that to cryo (I'm actually a bit salty abt that, shock is great for shields as cryo is not as effective). Regardless he's not the DoT character and giving him a mod that applies random DoTs to frozen enemies is so out of left field. It really feels like a copy of Amara's mods but worse cuz Zane can't buff DoT damage (not that those types of Amara mods aren't Bad themselves, per se, but at least they fit her playstyle and skill set) beyond getting gear that buffs it, but that's trading off potential weapon or AS damage for elemental damage and... No thanks. Not when it's a Random element and not when Zane isn't even supposed to be the DoT character.
Cold Warrior would be a cool (ha) mod if it did other stuff to frozen enemies tho. For example, this is all off the top of my head, not even my job to think about stuff like this:
Allow him to insta freeze enemies using a melee attack with a short cooldown and give him double melee damage to frozen enemies. Give him +25-50% bonus cryo damage/efficiency to all damage dealt with the mod equipped ('oh but 25% damage is outshined by anointments' FUCK YA ANOINTMENTS THEY RUIN BALANCING). Release a free frozen heart nova when Zane is damaged to 50% or lower health that restores health and shields for 25% damage dealt by the nova with a 5-10s cooldown. If you want to keep in spirit with the mod's red text, which honestly I'm starting to think was the main driving factor in the creation of this mod and NOT making Zane a fully realized VH, all cryo damage dealt by Zane has a 15% chance to deal double damage in another random element, with a short cooldown (10s?). Like the hydrafrost gun (I believe that is the one). If ya think that's broken cuz of the current anointments in the game, come join us on the dark side where we advocate for anointment nerfs and character buffs for better balancing of the main game without dlcs.
Anywho, giving that mod Fuckin' Anything creative to buff his skill set instead of tacking on random stuff that has nothing to do with his preexisting skills. That'd be great and it could allow for more builds.
Similarly with the techspert mod, again these are off the top of my head and I literally cannot do testing as I'm not a dev:
Kill Skill: Kills have a 25% chance to refund all AS cooldown and reset all AS duration (least unique but it'd at least stay near to what they wanted the mod to be and would be far more useful during end game as it acts like an actual kill skill- the hexagon can even be Zane's class mod as a tiny icon, it'd be a real cute). As this mod buffs skills in the barrier tree, I'm gonna assume players are using the barrier action skill with this mod: the barrier gains 15% amp damage and amp damage is converted to bonus shock damage. When deployed, the barrier releases a shock nova that drains the shields of enemies near Zane and replenishes his shield by 25% max capacity. The barrier gives Zane 20% bonus reload speed and fire rate (held or not, does not matter). 1x per AS duration, Zane can hold down the barrier deploy key to end his barrier skill and release a cryo nova around it that instantly freezes enemies nearby (so you can throw down ur barrier and use it like a remote bomb for Calm Cool and Collected).
Iunno, some of these prob wouldn't work in practice, but literally anything other than "hey this class mod is Calm Cool and Collected but somehow worse even without the requirements" is good enough for me.

AU: CelebrityTrope: Childhood friendsPrompt: "Are you sure this is legal?“ and/or "It’s been so long since we did this.”
Pairing: Minicat
“Are you sure this is legal?” Even drunk, Craig felt like something was off about the ‘no trespassing after sunset’ sign that hung on the lifeguard post they were walking by. His feet felt light, though he was sure it was the shots he’d taken at his party. Well, it had been labelled his party, though he didn’t know most of the people his manager invited. The house’s music was pumping in the distance, but Mini was dragged further away by… someone. “What’s your name again?”
“Hunter.” The guy seemed annoyed by the question, and Craig wondered if he’d asked it before. To be fair, he’d had to get to know a lot of people’s names that night, and alcohol didn’t help matters. Also, he really didn’t know where he was at the moment.
Well, he knew the city at least. L.A was still the same as it’d been twenty years ago, when he’d thought he ran the streets on his bike or his surfboard. Now, after winning the NASL cup and being crowned MVP, he really did own the city. That was why he was having the dumb party with those people he didn’t know or care for. Why some guy with a stupid name was dragging him like a two year old’s ratty blanket, no care or concern for his well being. But really, did anyone these days? When was the last time that someone actually talked to Craig about something other than money, fame, or what he could do for them?
His eyes closed slowly while he was dragged along, hearing the waves of the ocean crashing into the shore. His feet had lost their shoes, maybe along the walk to the sand, and his toes dug in with a familiar joy. This felt like home, not that stuffy expensive house that overlooked the city. The salty air, the water, all of it was so reminiscent of his childhood. How many nights had he spent on a beach like this? Searching for shells, building bonfires, finding the constellations and trying to figure out his place in the world. That had been some of the best years of his life, staring at the endless sky to remind himself that he was just so small in the grand scheme of things.
But the best part he remembered was him. The boy with grubby cheeks and a scowl who turned into the teen with rough hands and angry blue eyes. The one person who asked him for nothing. Nothing but his company. When Craig thought he had nothing, he gave Mini everything he needed to reach his dream. Craig wished he could have done the same back then.
Maybe now, too, if his drunk heart had anything to say about it.
“Freeze.” The voice that called out the command sounded familiar, but Mini’s brain was too sloshed to fully grasp from where. The hand that had been wrapped around his wrist was gone in an instant. It took Craig a moment to open his eyes again, and he caught a glimpse of the back of the man (Henry? Harold?) who had brought him to the beach running out of sight. It took a moment for his body to realize it was on its own, and then the world started to tilt. His arms tried to stabilize him by flailing out on either side, but it was the firm wall that his back bumped into that kept him from falling. Slowly, Mini blinked, letting gravity pull his head back to gaze up at the owner of the chest keeping his upright. His eyes were blurred a bit, partly from alcohol and the slant of his glasses, but even with the smeared vision, he picked up on some of the man’s features.
Why’d this officer have to have blue eyes like him, too?
“You’re…really pretty.” His words fell out without any chance of filter stopping them, but he was too drunk to mind. Everything was just right for a moment; the music in the background was lower now, and the warmth on his back felt like a comforting blanket. The ocean breeze had chilled him, and while his first companion hadn’t hesitated to leave him cold and alone, this stranger seemed fine with Mini pressed against him. Hands that might have grasped his hips to keep him standing were the right side of rough, large and just so familiar-
“Craig?”
“That is…is totally my name.” He laughed at his own answer, head fluffy with memories and booze. He didn’t mind slipping deeper into his daydream, letting the water and cold of night sooth his wounded soul. He knew this wasn’t him; the police officer’s badge dug into his shoulder blade, and he could see the flashing lights from the cop car parked somewhere behind them. He wasn’t that lucky. But the cop was built just like him; tall and scruffy, but soft despite the large body. Prickly, if he got any hints from the scoff that brushed his ear. But he hadn’t dropped Craig, which meant he was probably just as caring and kind on the inside as…Mini squeezed his eyes tighter, leaning back into the officer holding him. But when he spoke, it was for someone who was miles away. “God, I missed you.”
“What are you doing out here?”
“Iunno. Some guy dragged me out here for something,” he murmured, hearing a growl of annoyance that made him smile.
“You idiot, what kind of answer-”
“It’s been so long since…since we’ve done this.” He didn’t care if his pathetic mumbling was spilled to a reporter and plastered on a tabloid next week; he just needed to let it out. Years of longing, being alone in a crowd of thousands, searching for his breaking point. Decades of just not knowing where his life was headed, or when he’d stop spinning so high, when he’d crash and burn into the ground. Who would stand by Mini in the wreckage?
He would have, probably. Because he had given Craig his nights and attention before anyone even knew his stupid name. What would he think of Mini, now?
The decade of radio silence gave the answer he didn’t want to hear.
“Everything okay down there? Need me to come help haul him to the car?” The call of another officer from the beach’s side road threatened to break the dream-like state of Craig’s moment, and he groaned in protest before pressing closer to his source of warmth.
“Nah, I’ve got him. No need to call it in.” But just like his old friend would have done, this officer, this stranger, had protected Mini.
“Do ya now? This one’s special to ya, is he?” There was a tease somewhere in the tone, but Mini didn’t open his eyes to investigate.
“Shut up, Hanby. Take a drive down the rest of the road and see if anyone else is around. If you can find the punk who bailed when we pulled up, cuff him. I know where this idiot lives.”
“How are you planning on getting home after helping your new friend out?”
“I was off the clock ten minutes ago; I don’t gotta tell you shit. Now get moving.” The banter was swimming in Craig’s ears, but the thumb that brushed against his hip bone melted his brain too much to butt in.
“Oh, there’s definitely a story here. Be ready to share it with Fong and Del over coffee tomorrow. Can’t wait, buddy.” A warm laugh echoed against the night sky when the other officer moved away, and Craig’s ear picked up on the rocks shifting under the car’s tires when it pulled away.
“Fuck, he’s almost as big of a pain as you.” The words were sharp and warm against Craig’s ear, and he felt his body shudder from something deeper than the cold.
“God.” This cop even sounded like him. His eyes burned behind closed lids as he let out a wet laugh, nuzzling his nose into the collar of the officer. Maybe it’d get him arrested for indecent behavior in public, but he smelt like smoked wood, motor oil, and him. Or what he’d smelt like as a teenager, maybe. The details were so fuzzy now; was he just blending this person with his past to make himself feel better? Mini’s mind sloshed over new thoughts like waves, barreling into the shore of his reality with no intention to break.
“Let’s get you home.” But before he could take a step, before the stranger could finally break the final thread of Mini’s mirage of happiness, he spoke.
“I miss him.” A sob pushed out over his laugh, head useless against the tense shoulder behind him. “I miss us, how we…sat at the ocean, talked and…and…I just felt loved, maybe. Not like now. I don’t know if he ever felt…it’s been so long since…since I’ve been happy. You just feel like love, mr…mr. officer-sir-man. You feel like Tyler, and it’s…been so long since I’ve seen him. Since I’ve had him by my side. My whole side’s missing, it’s…he’s gone. And here I am, drunk and probably arrested and in love with a ghost. Tyler would hate me now-”
“Shit.” The grip around his waist tightened for a moment, but Mini didn’t mind the squeeze. It grounded him in a way nobody had in years. The alcohol was doing a bang up job of messing with his head, as it tried to convince him the officer’s next words were mumbled against his forehead. “Brock’s gonna be impossible to deal with when he finds out he was right. Fuck.”
“Hey, I…I have a Brock, too.” Craig laughed and then slumped, a crest of fatigue finally rolling into him. “He’s always right, good guy. He’d make a good wife for me.”
“Wait, what-”
“Cept can’t marry him when I love Tyler. Life would probably…be easier if I just forgot him. But, I can’t.” He yawned and accepted he’d end up in the cell by the morning, giving all his weight to the officer holding him. “I’m gonna pass out now. Thanks for…being here.”
“I should have been here before, idiot, I-.” Whatever else came next, Craig didn’t hear, his mind slipping into sleep.
He didn’t know that Officer Tyler Wine carried him home. Not to the house with strangers, but to his mother’s house three miles away. The one right across the street from the house Tyler himself had bought from his parents three years ago. He didn’t know Tyler was still in his city, still driving their streets, still sitting on their beaches, reminiscing. He didn’t know Tyler had refused to reach out in case Craig no longer needed a local boy that didn’t shine in the limelight. That he’d ignored their friend’s advice, kept his nose in his work, pretended he wasn’t missing a part of himself.
And Mini didn’t know that he’d still be there when Craig woke up the next morning.

With a nervous hop in her step, Róisín paced around the green room in anticipation for when she was to go and perform next. Jay had brought her along on his Sexy4Eva tour, and they were still in Korea since it had just started. There were two places he had asked her to perform in, and the first one was the first city she had ever been too after she moved to South Korea. “I want you to see how far you’ve come since you started this journey with me.” He’d told her when he asked her to perform.
How could she no to something like that? Something so, so sincere and generous of him, it was just impossible to say no. Especially when she had people blowing up her phone about the new tour, and how her name was on the posters with Jay’s, and whoever else he would be bringing along on tour with him.
“Red you good?” She heard from somewhere across the room as she was fiddling with the metal cuff on her wrist, black fingernail polish gleaming in the light when she moved her hand a certain way.
She looked over at the couch to see a small group of people staring at her in concern while she had been pacing around like she was at her first concert all over again. “F-Fine. I’m fine. Just a little freaked out at the moment.” She replied quickly, going back to pacing right after the words left her mouth.
One person who was completely relaxed on the couch stood up to walk in front of her and make sure she stopped her fidgeting. “You’re fine Angel. It’s okay to be freaked out. We’re right here with you okay? We got you.” He mumbled, taking her into a hug and engulfing her body.
She managed to relax against him momentarily and sighed into his chest, patting his side a couple times in thanks to helping her calm down. After their hug, she stepped away from him and sat down beside Matt, who was grinning at her as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders to mess with her. “Yeah Angel we got you.” He teased the both of them out loud.
She scowled at him and shoved him away from her. “I hate you so much. Do you know that?” She asked him, rolling her eyes when he just grinned back.
He pushed her off the couch so she landed on the floor with an ‘oomf.’ She rubbed her butt a couple times before Taehyung helped her off the floor and wrapped an arm around her. “Let’s get you to the dressing room now. It’s time for you to get ready.” He suggested, glaring at Matt and the other people in the room.
Matt lifted his arms up in response to the glare and shrugged his shoulders before Hongjoong jumped off the couch to follow the two. “I wanna go too! I wanna see what outfit you’re gonna wear tonight!” He shouted happily, practically skipping behind the two as they all disappeared toward the dressing room.

Finding her spot on the side of the stage, Jay was taking a few moments to introduce her to give her time to prepare for her stage time. “Wanna help me bring out this fiery red haired vixen I’ve come to love as my own little sisterrrrrr ANGEL!” He finally shouted out, disappearing toward the other side of the stage as Róisín jumped out with enough energy to power a whole house.
“What’s goin’ on everyone?! Miss me?!” She cried out into the mic, stopping in the middle of the stage with light shining perfectly on her to give herself an ethereal glow, and a perfect shadow of wings behind her to help with her stage name; her signature on stage.
She got the roar of the crowd as a response and laughed heartily into the mic, letting everyone know she was having just as much as they were. “I’m loving the energy you guys have tonight! So fresh! It’s awesome! Now I wanted to change this up a bit, maybe change tune for a song or two?” She suggested, getting more thunderous responses.
With a nod to DJ Wegun who started her own mix of music, giving her a chance to hype up the crowd a little more with grins and her own dancing along with the beats. It took her a couple minutes to get the jitters out of her system as she warmed herself up on stage, but when she finally was-she wasn’t Róisín anymore, she was Angel. And Angel had a large crowd to please.
“FLYYYYYY AWAAAAYYYY!
Losing flight toniight. Taken down a nootch.
Stop this feeling noow. Hold on tight and breaathe.
I can breathe, when you’re near mee.
Stay with mee, take it in slowlyy.
I am free toniight, I can fly toniight.
I will fly toniight, just for one night.”
While she was out prancing around the stage as she did best, singing along to her newest song, the small group she had backstage with her were moved from the green room, to her personal dressing room so the fans that bought VIP tickets could be in the room without other celebrities around. Since of course, she had to bring the famous boy from both Ateez and K.A.R.D to her first comeback concert, even if it was just her showing up as another singer and not the main one.
“It’s been so long since I've seen her so happy on stage like that. Gotta admit, AOMG is definitely a good fit for her to be in.” Matt said with a chuckle, listening to the music coming through the tv so they could watch her performance.
While they were chatting away, someone had snuck into the room with them and waited patiently until they noticed. Yunho jumped a good couple feet once he saw there was another person and pointed, wide eyed. “When did you get in here?!” He yelped out finally, the rest of the group seeing Woo Wonjae staring at the group with a small, terrified look on his face though he tried his best to hide it.
He pointed behind him and made a tiny sound. “Noona said there were people in here I could hang out with while everyone else did the show. Said you were all cool and that I’d be able to get along with you? Iunno, she’s weird.” He said with a small chuckle, stuffing his hands in his pockets while awkwardly waiting for them to give a response.
For quite a short while there was a pause as the group all just kinda quietly looked at each other, heads completely swiveling back and forth as they did. “So uh….anyone wanna play a game til she gets back?” Hongjoong asked, finding something from her wardrobe closet.

By the time Róisín had gotten off the stage and was able to see all her fans in the green room, she was dead tired and wanted to lay down on her couch for the rest of the night. She definitely wasn’t expecting to hear shouts and screams coming from her dressing room when she stepped inside the door. Yet she should have known something was going on when she had so many of her guy friends in one place. “What is going on?!” She yelped, looking around at the mess on the floor and everywhere else.
Six pairs of eyes stared at her wide eyed before they all stood up and bowed to her in unison. “We’re sorry Roe-Roe/Red/Rose/Noona!” She heard collectively from everyone.
She sighed and smacked a hand to her head. “You’re lucky I’m too tired to deal with this mess right now. Someone pick it up for me...please.” She grumbled out, sensing the eldest of the Ateez boys was going to take her up on that.
Seonghwa immediately grabbed cleaning supplies and got to work happily, mumbling to himself about how glad he was she said something about cleaning. All she could do was sigh and shake her head. “Someone else please help me find a change in clothes so I can get out of this death trap.” She whined, leaning against the tall giant that was Yunho, who happened to stand beside her at the perfect time.
Hongjoong jumped at the chance to grab her some clothing and Taehyung was too busy glaring at the younger boy holding the one thing which he cared so much about in the last few years. “Roe-Roe, do you want to go lay down in the car or something?” He asked her softly, holding a hand out for her.
She blinked tiredly and smiled at the elder. “No thanks Oppa, I’m fine right here. I wanna change first and then maybe I’ll pass out on the couch….” She explained, fighting the urge to yawn when Hongjoong rushed up in front of her and handed her some clothes to change into.
He grinned happily when she looked down at them and scowled. “Someone else grab me some clothes then because these ARE NOT clothes. They’re bug traps made for someone who insists on showing a lot of skin….” She grumbled, glaring at the leader who just smirked in response. “OH please you’d love to wear that wouldn’t you.” He replied, sticking his tongue out at her.
She was about to tackle him to the ground when her door opened up and a familiar face popped in grinning wide. “Where’s she at!? Where’s my sister?!” He yelled out, getting everyone to stop what they were doing.
Róisín tiredly turned to see Jay watching her in the doorway and smiled sleepily. “Oppaaaaa~ there you are! That was so much fun tonight! I’m so glad you let me do this!” She squealed, tackling him into a hug.
While the two were talking about the stage performance and everything from the lights and presence, to the aftermath of it all, the rest of the group slowly started filing out of the room until it was just the AOMG crew and one other person. “Oh, hey is something wrong?” She asked, standing up to go talk to him.
He shook his head and gave her a small smile. “Not at all. Just wanted to say you did amazing out there. See you later Angel.” He mumbled quietly before leaving just like the rest of the group.
Jay blinked a few times at what he just witnessed and then whistled softly. “So that’s why you don’t want to date huh? Already got yourself a manwich?” He asked her, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.
She rolled her eyes and groaned softly. “Jay you are so not helping. There’s nothing going on. Besides, you know it’s impossible to date in this industry….you’ve seen what happened last time I tried. And how well that went over.” She replied and then sighed, head dropping to her lap in despair.
The CEO laughed and rubbed her back soothingly. “Poor Roe. Can’t find herself the proper suitor. At this point you might as well date Matt then.” He said quickly jumping to his feet before she could catch him.
She growled and threw a pillow at him instead. “For the thousandth time NO I will not date Matt! There’s only one guy I’d want to date and it’s impossible so just DROP IT!” She yelled out at him, shutting her mouth as soon as the words left her.
She slapped both hands over her mouth and shook her head immediately. Jay on the other hand was staring at her like the biggest secret had just been dropped. Both were too busy staring at each other to hear the thumping around outside as someone was trying to listen in to what they were saying. “Did she just say she was interested in someone? Do you think it was someone who was here tonight?” One of the boys asked quietly.
Another smacked his head and grumbled softly, “of course it had to be someone who was in the room tonight. You think she’d blurt that kind of a secret out loud if they weren’t?”
“Who cares about that right now? We should go before she realizes we’re out here and dies of either embarrassment, or decides to kill us in our sleep.” The third replied before all three members of Ateez finally started on their way towards the van to take them back to their dorm.
