his name is Isheriil :) He’s an Altmer - and a Sadsack Supreme. He’s from Lillandril, where he helped manage a library, but has in recent years had a very exciting stint as an accountant in Greenshade. I think by the time I stopped playing, I’d left him owning a small bookshop somewhere on Auridon.

oh my god im so sorry, i live in a p progressive area (thanks denver) but i’m from small-town central pennsylvania and hearing ppl back home/my extended family talking about this is. so incredibly exhausting and disheartening

Ohh!! I really want to give that one a go! My fiance and I just got through Everybody's Gone to the Rapture (same folks that made Dear Esther). Have you played that? It's SO GOOD

Er... well, I tried. It wasn’t my thing. It felt too slow and too detached and un-poetic to me. “This is how people who hate walking simulators feel when playing a walking simulator,” I thought. And then I uninstalled and went and played cried through Dear Esther again.

But no, you should definitely try What Remains of Edith Finch! I want to play through it again just to spend more time picking through the world. THE HOUSE IS S̞̳O͈̩ C̶̮̪̗͈͔̝ͅO͏̱̭͚̞̭͕ƠL͇̜͚̻̦̱ .

I mean - the game doesn’t have the same level of wild unhinged painful poetry that Dear Esther has, but on the other hand, there’s a sequence where you get to play as a cat (and a shark, I fucking LOST IT at the shark), and another where you have a mini-game about making bath toys waltz, and so forth, so that’s all pretty great.
