I feel like people are misunderstanding Ivy and Janet having sex. It’s not about breaking up Harlivy and it’s not Janet having had no character development. They have sex because they are trying to connect to each other, Ivy especially has a habit of this. She has trouble making meaningful connections and when she does, the relationship quickly turns sexual.

It’s also about them now being equals. Janet is shown as having the same powers as Ivy. Ivy/Janet have never been in an actual relationship, because they are not on equal terms, but now that the balance has been shifted, they are able to be intimate.
