Women Empowerment

Le 8 Mars dernier les employées  de APM Terminals Tangier lançaient une initiative visant à aider leurs paires issues de milieux défavorisées.

Cette initiative est menée en partenariat avec le "foyer des jeunes filles Habiba Ammor", qui accueille des jeunes étudiantes désireuses de poursuivre leurs études supérieurs et qui n’en ont pas forcément les moyens. Les femmes cadres de APM Terminals Tangier ont généreusement accepté de donner de leurs temps afin de  faire des interventions auprès de ces jeunes filles. Les interventions concernent différents domaines, allant du développement personnel à l’hygiène et la santé, tout en passant par le développement durable et les principes de la gestion de la qualité. Les thématiques ont été définies en fonction des besoins de ces jeunes étudiantes.

L’initiative comprend également l’organisation de visites d’entreprise et l’opportunité  de faire des stages au sein de APM Terminals pour les plus méritantes.

Saison des stages oblige, les filles avaient besoin de commencer par des séances de techniques de préparation des CV/lettres de motivation et techniques de présentation, afin de les aider dans leurs recherches de stage et présentation des travaux de fin d’études. Nos deux collègues, Houda et Loubna ont gentiment accepté de leur préparer des séances, bien différents des cours magistraux auxquelles les jeunes étudiantes ont l’habitude d’assister, des séances interactives et décontractées.

Les jeunes filles ont particulièrement apprécié l’ambiance des séances, et aussi les jeux de rôles, qui leur ont permis de mieux voir les points à améliorer.

Le cycle des interventions devraient reprendre dès le début de la prochaine année universitaire. Histoire à suivre !

Solidarity With San Quintín

Frente Indígena de Organizaciones Binacionales, FIOB, is raising money to donate to the farmworkers of San Quintín -- and you can help!

On International Worker’s Day, please consider making a donation in support of the farmworkers of San Quintín who are up against multi-national corporations and state repression as they fight for a fair wage.

Today is the last day to donate to FIOB’s GoFundMe campaign before they deliver donations to San Quintín.

What is happening in San Quintín?

Due to poor working conditions and extremely low wages, agricultural workers in the San Quintín Valley of Baja California, Mexico, have organized strikes, marches and are currently negotiating with government officials in order to resolve these grievances.  

How can you help?

Stand in solidarity with the workers of San Quintín. Your monetary donation will be used to provide food and water for the jornaleros and their families. All donations will be delivered on May 2nd to San Quintín. Please Donate Now!
