i'm also not very fascinated by the idea of lestat and gabriella killing their family members despite what happens in the book BUT I think it's a very interesting detail how Gabriella was 100% convinced lestat killed caludia ("I see why you took her back") because he has already done that with his biological family before, then Lestat choosing to upset her and dropping the flirting for the first time since their reunion. Lestat can bare a lot of defamation coming from everywhere but the single thing he keeps close to the truth is the fact that Claudia's murder was not by his hands and it pains him that no one knows he actually wouldn't kill someone if he truly loved and cared for them. He never did.

I loved how in the scene about Nicki Lestat kept looking to Gabriella and Armand for help

Nicki's story was so sad in the book. Someone you care about experiancing mental health crisis but you not being able to do anything hurtss. I can feel that feeling of helplessness through this scene. And like sure Lestat is done with him and isn't actively in love with him, but Nicki is so intrinsically linked with mortal Lestat and his whole backstory and identity so the loss of Nicki must have felt huge to him
