can’t get over the fact that the location for the final scene wasn’t even what they originally had planned to use and they only went there because they nedeed more space and some door dividing tanrak and barth. The fact that it recreates the imagery of a confessional booth is only a wonderful coincidence they didn’t even had in mind until they had to switch places. It’s crazy!!

personally i think daniel saying that sometimes everyone disappears and he just feels him is foreshadowing for DM's scene pacing being absolutely slow compared to the pacing lestat has us used to from the start of the show. That scene will come like a crash and very little of us have chances of surviving.

i'm also not very fascinated by the idea of lestat and gabriella killing their family members despite what happens in the book BUT I think it's a very interesting detail how Gabriella was 100% convinced lestat killed caludia ("I see why you took her back") because he has already done that with his biological family before, then Lestat choosing to upset her and dropping the flirting for the first time since their reunion. Lestat can bare a lot of defamation coming from everywhere but the single thing he keeps close to the truth is the fact that Claudia's murder was not by his hands and it pains him that no one knows he actually wouldn't kill someone if he truly loved and cared for them. He never did.

The thing that drives me crazy this ep is that Barth knows. He knows. But he can't trust what he knows. Is he seeing something that isn't there, just because he wants it to be? If it is there, is Tanrak aware of it? Would he admit it? Would he act on it? How would he respond to Barth acting on it? Is Tanrak a safe person to know his secret? Is he keeping a secret of his own? He's testing Tanrak the entire ep, trying to confirm what he already knows, and more besides. He's touching him every chance he gets. He's constantly seeking him out. He's looking for reassurance every time he talks to him. Tanrak are you mad at me? Tanrak are we friends? Tanrak please talk to me. Tanrak you can tell me anything. Until he finally says the words: Tanrak I like you. Tanrak's quiet gay panic and his seething, miserable jealousy might be the headline of this ep, but Barth's persistence is the consistent background hum.

for ages media has been subtly portraying straight relationships with small gestures like if you watch in the mood for love you wouldnt doubt even for a second they are attracted to each other but god forbids lesbians are anything but explicitly making out and detailing their civil status to the whole world

Something that caught my attention while watching Pluribus was the excitement Zosia showed when Carol told them she returned to writing Wycaro, then saying “we’re just excited to read something new”. I find it interesting that only immune humans are capable of creating new art and such things but for some reason they still stand by the fact that Carol will be happier joining the hivemind. Not being able to enjoy new things being created constantly by different minds? doesn’t sound very appealing to me.
