Can you clarify the rumor regarding wonyoung’s birthplace/origin? Some say she’s part-chinese/taiwanese, some deny that saying her relatives are fully Korean. This goes back to her produce 48 era, where her name and passport details were not registered in Korean but chinese on the website, something like that, unlike other Korean participants. What do you see?

let me not rush into her "taiwanese" blood. intuitively, it's not exactly like that.

yes, wonyoung is not pure korean, but she's not exactly 1/4 taiwanese. historically it's really complicated to determine if taiwanese are chinese and/or vice versa, but from what i see, wonyoung is actually 1/4 chinese, maybe "han taiwanese", maybe "hakka", who according to wikipedia, their roots come from china. that's why i feel a dispute in this rumor.

nevertheless, the rumor is true. no matter what her lineage is there, as far as i could tell, they are in taiwan, so for historical reasons, she is 1/4 taiwanese.
