The soft pound of waves against sand was what roused her back into consciousness. The splitting pain in her head was what made her wish she was out again.
“Get up, shithead.” An unfortunately familiar voice droned.
“Whyyyyyy?” Isa whined in response.
“Because I can’t figure out what we’re going to do for food and shelter while you’re off lollygagging in dreamland.” Izzy snorted.
“No,” Isa replied, forcing her eyes open, “I was asking God why out of everyone in the world I could have ended up getting marooned with, why did He force me to be stuck with you?” Izzy rolled his eyes, mercifully saying nothing as Isa sat up and rubbed her head. “Where are we?”
“Paris, France. Do I look like I know where the fuck we are?”
