Still due to the compounding struggles of having been institutionalized by my parents for two years, having been unable to get back on social security, and being brown, gay, disabled, and trans, I owe 250$ by Wednesday (6/10)
Im trying, I am, I do odd jobs when I can get them. But I need to buy food and meds, so I have repeatedly had to borrow money. Please help me by spreading this.

Where's that comment?
Hello Tumblr!Ā
@jubs here, today, to tell you about a feature we're building: Comments by author!
Comments (or replies) have been around for a while, but they have always been tucked away from your regular feed, and so we're working on a few ways to integrate them into the rest of our experience.
Soon, blogs will have a Comments tab alongside Posts, Likes, and Following. There, you will be able to see posts other people have been commenting on, and, more importantly,Ā find your own comments! This was not possible before, except through notifications if someone engaged with your comment.
We're also working on a way to surface posts commented on by people you follow in your feeds. You will be able to find those in the For You tab, and later, alongside chronological posts in the Following tab.
So, how do you identify those posts in the feeds?Ā
Replied posts will show a small preview right there in your dashboard, before you click anything.Ā
This is not out yet, but soon! In the meantime, tell us what you think and expect from this! āŗļø
Launch Day
@jubs again!
First of all, thank you all for the feedback in the original post!
Today, we're launching the new "Comments" tab for Blog pages, and we'll be testing a For You recommendation based on comments from people you follow. The posts will have a preview of the reply, so you know why you're seeing that post.
You will be able to control the new tab visibility, and whether we should include your comments in your follower's feeds, through a new setting:
The toggle can be found on https://www.tumblr.com/settings/blog/YOUR_BLOG or in the General Settings > Replies section, on Mobile. If you have already disabled the "Share posts you like" setting, the setting will default to disabled.
The new tab is only available on Web and iOS (44.8+) for now, but the toggle is available to everyone (including on Android), so you can control what other people see on your blogs, even if you don't have the new feature yet. Don't worry, we have plans to implement the tab and posts on Android, soon!
---
We want to later include these replied posts to the Following feed as well, and we're planning on adapting the current "Include posts liked by the blogs you follow" toggle to also consider comments, in case you don't want to see shared comments from people you follow.
What do you think? As always, we appreciate your thoughts, keep 'em coming!
You all appreciated my sword-embroidery so much that I thought I'd share something I did a few years ago and framed! I based the image on an old comic book panel.
Does it count as 'sword in the stone' if it looks more like 'sword in the cairn'...?
For those who don't know: Ikumi Nakamura is the woman who was senior artist on Bayonetta, and designed the titular character along with Hideki Kamiya. Their greatest moment of bonding was over their insistence that Bayonetta keep her glasses on at all times. Nakamura cannot go to horny jail. She is the warden.
Happy pride month to her and her exclusively
she made a comic about the experience on twitter

An Update from back in October I'm surprised wasn't added to this post. lol
Imagine fandom like a playground. Thatās essentially what it is. Weāre all playing with dolls (characters) in a large sandbox (fanart, fanfic, etc.). Making them kiss. Making them fight. Whatever you can think of.
And imagine someone who saw someone playing with these dolls in a way that they didnāt like and took it upon themselves to police how these dolls were played with, and started shrieking about how the ones playing with them were supporting real life horrors/apologia for the worst kinds of abuse and bigotry, and got their friends to pile on until whoever they were piling on dropped the dolls and left the sandbox out of shame.
The logical conclusion would be for everyone else playing in that sandbox to get up, gather their toys, and quietly move to the other side of the park to play as far away as possible from these people and warn others playing about them (block them).
Fandom isnāt real. These are all dolls. Theyāre fictional characters.
This is the exact analogy I have been thinking about the last couple years, especially in regards to certain fandoms and online users.
I think part of it is also people in fandoms reaching a point where itās not the character/doll they hate but the other people in the sandbox, but shaming people for liking and playing with the character/doll becomes a way to hurt the other person.

Hirotte because the tsu is small, but it basically is "Please pick me up (and take me home)."
I just realized one of the reasons I think I have a rose-tinted-glasses view of past fandoms as compared to new ones (or even returning to old ones after years) is that

Tumblr used to save tag search formats and kept the formats separate.
I would set my searches to show Newest and Pictures Only, and Tumblr would remember for weeks or months. And also, Pictures Only meant Pictures Only, not rambling ragebaity text posts about how Some Fans Are Wrong Actually And Hereās Why With Some Screenshots and GIFs. I wasnāt being bombarded with peopleās personal salt and discourse slapfight nonsense.
Now, every venture into the tags requires reselecting all the filters, and text posts show up anywhere and everywhere regardless.
Itās almost enough to drive a fan back to deviantArt (if the ads werenāt riddled with malware and the company wasnāt selling out its userbase to AI companies)
