Savage Bonds by J. Bree
Fall Special Edition Reading Challenge
Whoops! I've got a big TBR problem and a chunk of that is thanks to my love for special editions. The issue? I haven't read more than half of the SE's I own, and I can't keep allowing myself to purchase more when I don't even know if I like what I have. Plus I'm beyond out of space on my shelves and I think it's about time I start unhauling what I don't like instead of excusing their existence "because they're pretty."
So for this fall/autumn season, from September through November, I'm challenging myself to finish all 19 of my currently unread SE's and decide if they stay or if they go. Technically more books I preordered have arrived since taking these photos, and there are more to be delivered this fall, but I will not be forcing myself to include them.
Have you read any of these? If so, did you enjoy them? Are there some in here you want to read, but haven't had the chance yet?
Do you have a favorite read from Stack 1?
Wings Once Cursed And Bound by Piper J. Drake
The Crown Of Oaths And Curses by J. Bree
Bonesmith by Nicki Pau Preto
The Jasad Heir by Sara Hashem
Assistant To The Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer
Navola by Paolo Bacigalupi
The Sun And The Void by Gabriela Romero Lacruz
Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross
A Crown Of Ivy And Glass by Claire Legrand
When The Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker
I didn't read/like any of these
Feel free to comment or tag the SE you like best just based on looks!
I have to get back to reading The Bonds that Tie series (I'm currently on Tragic Bonds and shit has hit the fan) and the Jacksonville Rays series by Emily Rath (I'm on book 2 and the reverse age gap thing is hitting me the wrong way), but I'm scared???????????? For real??????
Both series are fantastic, don't get me wrong, but what gets on the Jacksonville Rays series is the ten-year-old-gap between Tess and Ryan, how he's portrayed as someone young, wild and free and how she's shown as a mature woman way out of his league. How that will turn out is what I'm thinking about, because this series has a special place in my heart, and I really don't want to end up having bad feelings towards it. And as for the Bonds that Tie series, the next two books will be the whole explanation on what really happened with Nox (spoiler alert: it was nothing good, at all), the conclusion of their war and what happens next, and what I'm scared about is finishing it and missing it so damn much that it hurts. FOR.REAL.
People tell me that I overthink and overanalyze stuff when I read, but that's just how my brain works. I like reading not just because it's a hobby or something, but because of how authors put Easter eggs here and there, foreshadow stuff and are very subtle (or not) with their covers and blurb, and I like putting all of this together and understand the book better, what made the authors write it and their inspiration behind it.
So I'm still reading them. Here's hoping for the best in the end!

Sinopse do livro #1
Eu nunca vou me perdoar.

Being a reader is so weird because I haven’t had the will to read anything for a week and a half, and now it’s 5 in the morning and I’ve just finished a whole ass book in like 8 hours.
Been reading the Bonds that Tie series- like I’ve gotten to the 4th book in a week and a half. I have a problem. But that’s beside the point.
I’m a sucker for the trope of main character did a thing to protect people that others don’t understand, so they hate them until it eventually comes out. This book has a lot of the tropes I like. Powerful women, men respecting women, supernatural powers, spiciness, spiciness with multiple people, etc.
My main gripe is how young she is? 19 is obviously of age, but thats barely an adult. I know they’re made for each other and whatever, but isn’t North like 29 and Gryphon and Nox 24? It’s just jars me a bit every time they bring up her age.
