Old Shyvana Biography vs New One

Left is old, right is new. Holy cow was this new biography written by a drunk man? It just creates such a confusing new timeline of various events.

Why for the love of God did they decide to make the Quinn-Shyv fight scene a scene from the past. There is no reason to do this. It doesn't make the cinematic more interesting or more canon. It also just opens up a can of worms of why would Quinn and Shyv pair up to fight off Yvva only for Quinn to (I guess???) fuck off and leave immediately afterward so that Shyv would be the only one to find the wounded J4. Was Quinn late for dinner and had to head home? She's very clearly already at least a Ranger at this point whose entire job is to hunt down dangerous beasts. I guess she just didn't pick up on the idea that Yvva would come back? It's just a really strange, pure vibes-based choice here.

This creates a lot of potential issues with Quinn's timeline now too. Quinn got her repeating crossbow at the same time she became a Ranger-Knight. At best they'd have to make a gap between her "gearing up" and her becoming a knight. So... she took a pit-stop to fight a dragon on the way to Barrett's funeral to become a knight? She only became a knight *after* Barrett Buvelle died at the Gates of Mourning. Which means that... I guess that might not be a thing now? At best this is a series of massive coincidences. So right as Quinn was heading to the capital to meet up with Lestara Buvelle she happens to run into Yvva hunting down Shyv only to then leave immediately to go to the funeral where she becomes a knight? But even then Xin's comic specified that J4 was still fighting in the eastern campaigns months during the funeral. So. The Gates of Mourning battle hadn't happened yet? And if it hadn't then there'd be no funeral for Barrett and no Quinn asking to be knighted? It also conflicts with the Demacia Rising minigame where Quinn is already a Ranger Knight but Xin's funeral hadn't happened yet. This timeline is so contrived and weird.

3. It also arbitrarily removed this bit from her original bio "Though the stationed soldiers regarded her violet skin and strange manners with some suspicion, she was made welcome. Demacians, it seemed, always looked out for one another, and her time in the town was the most peaceful she had ever known" about her living in the town and being accepted by the people because Demacians stand by each other in times of trouble. They changed it to a paragraph that emphasizes *only* how Demacian were suspicious of her and it's *only* J4 vouching for her that gets them to let her in. Thanks riot, you managed to make Demacia worse for no reason and no benefit whatsoever just to make Shyv's character *even more* dependent on J4.

Riot really just doesn't care anymore lmao. It's all just vibes. They arbitrarily put Quinn and Shyv together in a cinematic and then haphazardly made it "canon" in the past in a way that barely makes sense with the preestablished lore of other characters.

And they somehow managed to make Shyv's story even more J4 dependent on J4 for its mere existence. She now has no actual ties to Demacia other than J4 so her lore is defined by two things now: being J4's hamfisted, allegorical squeeze, and being discriminated against. lmao. This is some powerful writing for female characters, I'll tell you what. /s

How could he ever deny her anything? That’s what he wants to say. Instead— J3 shakes his head. “No,” he croaks out—too quick, but he can feel his cheeks go hot. Which is stupid because they’re supposed to be friends, right? J3 can be happy being friends. The relief that they’re talking again is enough. It should be enough. It’s too bad that he is the way he is—greedy, ravenous. He wants it all. Still, he’s glad they’re talking again. If he wants it all, he’ll take that much.
