okay first i want to shamelessly promote a couple jabed fics I wrote:

^^ and I've written more than those 2 if you are interested but I won't just self-promote when there are SO many good jabed writers out there.

admittedly I've been out of the immediate community fandom for a while but some of the most elite writers for this pairing and my favorite of their fics:

onemechanicalalligator writes INCREDIBLE jabed fics esp if you're looking for fics that deal with jeff's issues. some of my faves are Introduction to Breaking Down Walls, Of Recklessness and Water, and Corpus Delicti (just read tags/warnings for all jabed fics lol)

jabedalien has written SO many jeff/abed fics i don't even think i could narrow it down if i tried, but Syntactic Analysis, Trespassing and Shower Studies, and Trespassing and Shower Studies; 2nd Edition are super good. Also, they've got incredible Jeff/Abed fics with autistic Jeff, Jeff's issues, and polyamory/dating multiple people fics -- they've just got such a unique range of different dynamics in their jabed fics. literally just read everything they wrote.

Their first couples costume is (predictably) the Inspector and Thoraxis. It fits perfectly with Abed’s hyperfixation and Jeff’s need to be shirtless as often as possible. 

Jeff is so convincing as Thoraxis that leaked video footage of them making out causes a not so small scandal in England. Nigel Cuthbertson has to give an interview on the BBC showing that he has his wife were on vacation in the Maldives and not anywhere near Greendale, CO

Abed knows that Jeff is a huge nerd after he crashed in the dorms that time, but he doesn’t know how huge a nerd until he spends the night for the first time. He finds Jeff’s stash of ultra-rare Marvel comics and gets so excited he may be physically vibrating 

Jeff has an amazing comic hook up, and spends way more money buying Abed rare favorites than he would ever admit

Side note: Jeff is so excited about playing Hot Lava because he wants that fucking comic; not for the $50k, but because it’s actually missing from his collection 

One time they’re holding hands at the mall when Jeff gets tackle-hugged out of nowhere by Willy Jr. Jeff nearly has a complete and total panic attack when Willy zones in on their hands, but rather than parroting the William Winger homophobia Jeff has been fearing for years, his little brother loudly exclaims “SEE I TOLD DAD REAL MEN HOLD HANDS.” 

 This is how Jeff gets stuck spending the rest of the day holding hands with his little brother at the mall while Abed takes pictures and spams the group chat with them

One time Abed forgets his stim toys, and his tapping on the table is making Annie look homicidal. Jeff texts him asking him to info dumb the entire plot of Kickpuncher: Detroit via text. The movement of his thumbs across the keys and the focusing on on a truly shitty movie helps keep Abed grounded

Jeff doesn’t speak to Britta for a week after he learns Troy and Abed know about his more embarrassing kinks

After Abed and Jeff start dating, Jeff ends up buying Britta a bottle of really nice vodka. Turns out Abed really took the nickname “Nipple Play Winger” to heart

Ah I’m glad!! I’ve been a lurker in the fandom for awhile and I’m a huge multishipper so the sheer plethora of ships in this show has been wonderful. And I am always here for Jabed the dynamic is just *chef kiss*

f: share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

“See, we have to keep our drawbridges open so that people are able to come in. They just have to work for it, you know?” Britta explained.

“What do you actually gain from keeping it open, though?”

Britta thought for a moment. Images of the entire study group all together on holidays, around the study room table, and at various Greendale school dances came to mind. However, the images of Frankie bathed in golden light outside the Vatican and Jeff reclined in his office chair, smiling as he watched her walk away lingered for an extra moment.

“A lot. Because sometimes, we do get hurt. We let the wrong people in and we learn from it. Even if we don’t learn to never let those kinds of people in again, we at least learn the consequences of doing so. And sometimes, we let the right people in, and they’re so worth it that it makes up for everything else.”

Elroy brought the car to a screeching halt. Britta whipped her head to the side and glared at him.

“Dude, what are you doing?!”

“Letting down my drawbridge. We’re going back to Greendale.” 

more like a passage than a snippet tbh, but I really like this bit because it’s a good summary of my philosophy when it comes to interpersonal relationships. a big struggle of mine over the past year has been resisting closing myself off from others after being hurt by several former close friends. whenever I feel myself starting to close my drawbridge, I remind myself of all of the amazing people in my life and every incredible thing that’s come from letting them in. this passage is one of my favorites because I just loved trying to capture all of that with Britta! 

n: is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?

I’ve tried to write a Jeffbritta wedding fic and a Jeffbritta season 6 AU twice each and neither time it’s worked out. I nearly finished the wedding one, but by the time I reached the end, I absolutely hated every part of it since most of it had been written back when I was first getting back into fic. and I just keep losing motivation to write the s6 AU lol so I’ll say both of those!!
